10. Agree with that pretty much

I like her, trust her judgment, but I found her sound bites scripted, and her tone harsh at times. She gave slight nods to the end of the points she was making, a signal for applause lines, but also like she sought consensus or approval from the crowd. I don't think that would wear well in the general election. Suprised her media people didn't work on delivery. We need experienced candidates to clean up Trump's soiling of our government, and we're going to need top notch foreign policy chops too since Trump has alienated most all of them.

varies Republicans both in the House and Senate as they flee the country to avoid prison?

21. she was being targeted?

The disarray inside Harris’ campaign was laid excruciatingly bare in a resignation letter from Kelly Mehlenbacher, the outgoing state operations director, who complained that staffers were being treated appallingly and top officials provided little direction on policy and lacked a viable plan to win the election.

“This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly,” Mehlenbacher wrote in the Nov. 11 letter obtained by the New York Times.

She was my first choice. She would make a fantastic VP or Attorney General. I hope she rips the repukes a new one when the Senate impeachment trial takes place.

The Senate retains a strong Democratic voice, and the necessary paring of our POTUS candidates is furthered.

Her campaign was basically ignored by the media and didn't get the attention it deserved.

15. And there was a concerted, organized effort to take her down right after she announced.

Like by that African-American Republican (forget his name) who is also a crook. (But he's a Republican, so I repeat myself.) There was a lot of bot activity and also amplification of negatively cherry-picked and spun allegations by the Jacobin types, so she was getting it from right and "left"-- like other candidates they find threatening, but she got hit hard and early. Also... one of the accusations the Republican crook was making was that she was not really black. And there's a kind of movement regarding "descendants of slaves" (DOS) that became part of the attacks on her. They said she's not a descendant of slaves. (Although Jamaica was part of the slave trade, so maybe they mean she's not a descendant of U.S. slaves? Of course, there were also claims her Jamaican father wasn't really black.) We met two African American women at the recent CA Dem convention in Long Beach who told us it was past time for a DOS candidate, which they said Harris is not. (And Obama is not,) These were pretty mainstream woman, who had liked President Obama. It was shocking (and depressing) to me that a rightwing, ratf-cking, bot-driven (I saw it happening in real time) talking point had gained such legitimacy.

24. One thing doesn't negate the other, and I believe the former staff member is now working for...

Bloomberg?!!

Read what I wrote. I saw it happening out of the gate as she announced. A lot of accounts posting the same thing. And then the Jacobins got involved. I'm not saying she's the only victim of organized attacks. But they were thorough and effective.

Rational thought entertains that not only does 2+2=4, so does 10-4.

Both existing simultaneously without denying the antecedent.

But that's rational thought for ya...

14. So sad to hear this. Our "diverse" primary field is getting less so. Once the media

decides you're behind in the polls, and stops covering you, and your polling declines... you fade away.

Bye Kamala.

Stay in the Senate, unless you are picked for Vice President of course.

30. She is one of the few candidates that I think would have done well debating Trump

She could have destroyed him. In fact I think she was the strongest in that regard.

As others have said, she did come off a little scripted. I'll always respect her for being the first candidate to actually say #$%& to the monitors, whose only job seemed to be to egg on each candidate to crap on each other, and look in the camera and directly address Trump and his supporters in one of the debates.

32. She Was So Strong

She was so strong and would have taken down Trump in any debate. This scares men. That’s the real reason she is no longer in the race. Deep down, I think that is the reason though other reasons are given.

I wonder why a strong woman would let that crap go on in her campaign. Was it a sabotage?

process, and she'll be an important leader in whatever future government position she has, whether it's in the Senate or the cabinet.

We're lucky to have her strength and commitment, and I wish her all good things.

36. I'm saddened by this

I know her campaign was having some problems but this was still a suprise. I didn't care for her gotcha with Biden in the first debate, but that aside, I had a lot of respect for her. She was a strong, fearless candidate. I will never forget her kindness towards Beto when he ended his campaign a month ago. As a Beto supporter it meant a lot to me on a day when so many were dumping on him. Her campaign treated his staffers and supporters to dinner. She didn't have to do that and speaks volumes to her character.

And he had some kind words for her too.
