Why would a news organization declare that certain things are off-limits?

Just because Michael Bloomberg owns Bloomberg News? Is that really reason enough not to investigate and report on the candidates?

I'd really like to know more information about this. It sounds like Trump's campaign might actually have a legitimate point.

The Trump campaign is right. Bloomberg cannot run for President and have editorial control (or even publisher control as far as I am concerned) over a major media outlet. Just like Trump should have, Bloomberg should have had to divest and place assets in a blind trust (at least those assets that represented a potential conflict of interest and, in Trump's case that is most of them).
