Ex-envoy testifies he was 'surprised' by additional attempts to get Ukraine President to announce Bi

Former US Special Envoy Kurt Volker told lawmakers Tuesday that he was "surprised" to learn there had been additional conversations about the Ukrainian President announcing an investigation into President Donald Trump's political rivals.

Volker's testimony before impeachment investigators is a key component of the House's inquiry, as he was one of the so-called "three amigos" who met with Trump on Ukraine policy and worked directly with Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani to help Ukraine draft a statement on investigations.

Republicans have seized on his previous closed-door testimony in which he said he saw no evidence of a quid pro quo conditioning US security aid and a one-on-one meeting on an investigation.

But Volker, the first witness in the House's impeachment inquiry, said that since his initial testimony "a great deal of additional information and perspectives have come to light."

This is all about the base. Republicans don't give one eyelash for anybody but their donors and their base. All these antics are for show to the base to keep them fat on red meat. There's no other explanation for their antics.

3. It seems Volker is trying to save himself and Morrison is a partisan hack

He may not like to be labeled as one of the "3 Amigos", but he seems to have had a lot of interaction with both Sondland and Rudy.

Tim Morrison proved, at least to me, that he is a republican first. So much contradiction in his statements. I went to the lawyer because I thought there was a problem with what the president told the Ukranian president, but I didn't find it illegal, but I still wanted it in a place where no one could read it, a very classified place because other people may find it illegal and start something like where we are now.

I know that is not verbatim but that is how I saw it.

He goes to the lawyer to have it classified because, even though it is a "perfect" conversation, it did not sound right...He is a partisan hack.
