Whistleblower disputes boil over in impeachment interview

WASHINGTON (AP) Transcripts released Friday in the impeachment inquiry show Republicans and Democrats repeatedly skirmishing over GOP questions that appeared aimed at drawing out the identity of the whistleblower who filed the initial complaint against President Donald Trump. Trump himself speculated that the whistleblower "should be sued. And maybe for treason."

During questioning last month of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a top Trump national security adviser, Republicans repeatedly asked questions that could reveal the whistleblower's identity leading to sharp exchanges with Democrats and Vindman's lawyer.

The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., finally intervened, saying: "It is the ruling of the chair that the witness shall not identify employees, detailees or contractors of the intelligence agency, or provide information that may lead to the revelation of the identity of the whistleblower, someone whose life has been put at risk."

Democrats "are determined to protect the right of that whistleblower to remain anonymous," Schiff said, "and we will not allow bad-faith efforts to out this whistleblower."

1. If the U.S. learns ANYTHING from this period of having a criminal in hour Whitehouse

it needs to be that the GOP is not a group of politicians: it's a group of thugs and liars put in place by the billionaire class with the intent of taking down the U.S. constitution.

2. You are SPOT ON!

They are nothing more than a crime ring. They CANNOT be entrusted with power.

4. That, plus one more thing:

"Voting to shake up the system" isn't as consequence-free as some dilettante jackasses seem to have thought.

3. Every single republican is an oozing maggot boil on the ass of this nation who needs to be lanced,

disinfected, and eradicated.

If I could push a button and eject them all into the Asteroid Belt, spinning alive and conscious unto eternity, I'd do it.

Here's your Purgatory, you motherfuckers.

5. What the HELL drives these

stupid gop members? They are all willing to make themselves look like fools, for what? Are they just really ignorant, or is something else in play here? Strangely, the worst of the worst are all gop representatives. Are voters really this desperate, that they vote for anything with an (R) behind their name, or are the voting machines "fixed"?

6. I have to think most R voters are born that way, born into R families...

similar to being born into a religious family/community in which they are programmed to believe whatever their religion or political party tells them and defend whatever it does. I often hear about persons who were once republicans, but I never hear about persons who were once democrats and have since become republicans. Family and community programming from an early age can be almost impossible to break free from. This helps me cope with acquaintances and extended family members who are... like that.

10. Also

I remember one Trump voter said he voted because he needed a job, and if it didn't work out, he'd not vote for him again. So, they believed the bullsh*t he spewed forth. What will they believe this time around?

I'd almost believe that they would vote against Trump just to get rid of the daily stress and chaos he has caused. I just don't understand why anyone could watch the country disintegrate and turn into a dictatorship and be happy about that. It's like a war in here now. They are in heavy, heavy denial, despite the fact that many learned people are telling them to watch out, and that we are losing the country.

9. It's bewildering

I mean, do they really want to live in a country run by a dictator? Do they think they are immune to his ultimate agenda?

Why don't they recognize evil when they see it?
