Trump rally attendees leave early as president's rambling drags into second hour

Those attending President Donald Trumpís rally in Monroe, Louisiana seemed to be unwilling to continue on with the rally as it entered its second hour of Trump speaking.

The president was scheduled to begin speaking at 7 p.m. CDT, but as the rally went into 9 p.m. NBC News correspondent took a video showing that supporters began streaming out of the arena.

ďThe president is speaking and you can see folks streaming out of the arena. Itís just unusual for his rally events. Those who remain are fired up,Ē Kelly OíDonnell tweeted Wednesday night.

Most Trump rally attendees arrive hours ahead of time and must wait in long lines. They then enter the rally site where there are more hours of speeches ahead of the president. Some people simply canít go on that long.

15. Yeah

Maybe it will be Trump himself who will turn his followers around. Even his most ardent fans will eventually get tired of his endless inarticulate speeches. They are there for excitement, to get fired up, and he can't really hold their attention anymore.

He's not funny, he's not charismatic, he's not entertaining, and he is a god-awful public speaker. Maybe these brainwashed people don't need to be deprogrammed, they just need MORE Trump, sort of the "Snake pit" remedy. I'm feeling a bit hopeful!

You keep eating bananas, morning to night, and you can just get nauseated by looking at them after the first day.

19. Oh my god YES!!!

I'm really cracking up here as I am imagining trying to eat another damn banana!!! That is how his ardent supporters are starting to feel. Time to go home and watch some Duck Dynasty reruns! Or Dancing with the Stars, that's always fun and more entertaining than this monstrous orange blob that they waited hours to see.

I think Trump has over estimated his appeal to his "uneducated" base.

17. I think what they're starting to see ...

... is that everything is all about him, not them. He is completely focused on the impeachment and what it will do to him.

He is also increasingly playing the victim, persecuted by everyone - and it is increasingly coming off as weakness, fear, and perhaps a whiff of guilt. Flop-sweat is not a good look in front of people who voted for you because they believed you were the strong, take-no-shit, never-blink leader you sold yourself as.

6. This will be a common story. Trump is a hyper-kinetic TV show. Audience will get bored of it.

Think of Rowan and Martin's Laugh In. Came in, fast and frantic, everyone loved it. Then the 2nd year. And the third. And people weren't tuning in as much. Everyone went merrily on to the next New Thing.

I've never known any people that could talk non-stop when not reading a script for that long that were not diagnosed as bipolar to some degree. I had to learn how to get off the phone with a couple of them without being too rude.

We'll probably never see a true psychological analysis of this man.........

22. That's probably what they are bored about. He just rambles.

Maybe they are feeling different things by now. They use to be glued to him.

Do you remember that 90s movie Hocus Pocus. A spell was put on the parents and they all went to the Halloween party and danced their asses off like they were possessed. The doors opened up in the morning and they were like, what the hell just happened? Itís like that.

I'm surprised the Secret Service does not surround him with that 2 inch thick bullet-proof glass paneling when outside in public like that.

41. I win!

Left-handed compliment

An expression of praise or admiration that is actually a faintly disguised insult or reproach. The association of lefthandedness with ambiguity or doubtfulness may come from the practice of the morganatic marriage ceremony (between royalty and a commoner who renounces all claim to the spouseís title and property); in it the groom gave the bride his left hand instead of the right hand used in conventional marriage ceremonies.

Lots of these people just follow him around and got to multiple rallies.

I'm still not convinced that them being bored at rallies means they won't vote for him. They still support his evil, he's just less entertaining now.

36. I have a degree in public speaking and still teach it occasionally

Decades ago the attention span of most adults was about 40 to 45 minutes at one time for something like a speech. Today it is more like 30 minutes max. That's why most churches won't do a sermon more than about 15 minutes. YOU LOSE PEOPLE!

Going two hours...I guarantee that after 20 minutes most tune out. It is just human nature. People go to these rallies to see what it's like, to say they say the Pres, etc. But nobody is listening intently for 2 hours.
