Missouri agency tracked Planned Parenthood patients' periods

Source: Associated Press

Jim Salter, Associated Press Updated 6:14 pm CDT, Tuesday, October 29, 2019

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Missouri's health department director on Tuesday said he tracked the menstrual cycles of Planned Parenthood patients as part of an effort to identify what the agency says were "failed abortions" at a St. Louis clinic.

Department of Health and Senior Services Director Randall Williams made the revelation during the second day of an administrative hearing to determine whether Missouri's only abortion clinic will lose its license to perform the procedure.

Williams said an investigator made a spreadsheet at his request that included the dates of patients' last periods, The Kansas City Star reported. He said the goal was to find women who needed multiple procedures to complete an abortion.

The head of the St. Louis clinic called the move "deeply disturbing."

"Missouri's top health official, Randall Williams, scrutinized menstrual cycles of women in this state in order to end abortion access," Yamelsie Rodriguez, president and CEO of Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region, said in a statement.

Girls As Young As 12 Are Having Their Menstrual Cycles Tracked By The Gov't

"Girls as young as age 12 are having their periods tracked by the government. The U.S. government still has not released any update on the whereabouts of nearly 1,500 migrant children . And despite a court order to stop separating families, officials have taken 245 more children away from their parents..."

This HAS to be illegal in the least....A MAN, who has NO uterus, Cervix , Ovaries, Fallopian Tubes neither does HE have VAGINA...this has to be a CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATION, A VIOLATION OF ILLEGAL SEARCH & SEIZURE, DEFINITELY AGAINST HIPPA, is against the CONSTITUTION, AT THE VERY LEAST.

In the last few years, I've survived ALOT, including BUT definitely NOT limited to stage 4B Cervical Cancer, Pulmonary Sarcoid, w/scars on my brain from NEUROSARCOID, tonic-clonic SEIZURES, (also resulting from the Sarcoid), internal gangrene & this summer was a complete bust because I contracted Vibrio vulnificus & 2 bouts of Clostridia dificile...My husband is my caregiver & yet, although I filled out paperwork that said it was okay for him to speak to my medical team, we had to do it all over again, ie, I had to fill out another form...This is MY BAE, THE MAN I'VE BEEN MARRIED TO FOR 18 YRS & CHANGE...Umm I want to know HOW THE FUCK this man, MAN, that I doubt these women has EVER met, was able to get such PERSONAL INFO...I men WHAT THE FUCK?

I'm familar with HIPPA but I'm no expert. So, I humbly ask someone here on DU about this MONSTROSITY in Missouri what are the consequences of this bullshit, as it applies to HIPPA? Oh, BTW, this appears NOT to be the only case of this. In fact, I feel this is , OH, SO MUCH WORSE, BEHOLD:

Former NC health director embroiled in coal ash controversy reportedly hired in Missouri

Dr. Randall Williams, former state public health director, has been hired to a similar job in Missouri, according to a local newspaper.

Williams, an obstetrician/gynecologist, was appointed North Carolina’s public health director in July 2015. He became embroiled in controversy over the safety of household well water near coal ash ponds. He was also a candidate for Raleigh mayor in 2011.

In testimony last year related to a lawsuit, state toxicologist Ken Rudo said state health and environmental officials tried to “play down the risk” of coal ash contamination of drinking wells.

Williams and former Department of Environmental Quality Assistant Secretary Tom Reeder rescinded a do-not-drink notice in March 2016. Rudo said in his deposition that the state was telling people the water was safe when it knew it wasn’t.

In a deposition, Williams said he rescinded the warning notices because they were stirring up unwarranted fears.

Megan Davies, an epidemiologist who was section chief in the state Division of Public Health and Rudo’s boss, resigned last summer over how the department and former Gov. Pat McCrory’s administration portrayed Rudo’s testimony.

She and another colleague had also testified about concerns they had about rescinding the warning notices.

I'll have to go back and read but I don't think he is a real doctor.

I agree too - how in the world would they track a woman's menstrual cycle - did they call her every month and she actually answered the question?

Something very very strange about this story.
