38 People Cited for Violations in Clinton Email Probe
By The Associated Press

he State Department has completed its internal investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of private email and found violations by 38 people, some of whom may face disciplinary action.

The investigation, launched more than three years ago, determined that those 38 people were "culpable" in 91 cases of sending classified information that ended up in Clinton's personal email, according to a letter sent to Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley this week and released on Friday. The 38 are current and former State Department officials but were not identified.

Although the report identified violations, it said investigators had found "no persuasive evidence of systemic, deliberate mishandling of classified information."

The Justice Department's inspector general said FBI specialists did not find evidence that the server had been hacked, with one forensics agent saying he felt "fairly confident that there wasn't an intrusion."

7. Yes

I recall seeing articles that many of these were retroactively classified.

14. There were 20 or so classified as "top secret"

But it really wasn't anything damaging. Most of it concerned brief and vaugue drone strike talk. Even though it was all public knowlege, it was still officially "Top Secret". Also, it was primarily stuff that had already been through unclassified email systems prior to getting to her.

Basically, Clinton had approval power over CIA drone strikes, so when they were ready to pull the trigger, they needed a quick yes or no. If no one is around the secure systems for whatever reason, they would just use less secure means because speed was the important consideration. While not technically appropriate, it's apparently something that was done alot throughout the government.

Some classified stuff ended up in Rice and Powell's personal email too, but that obviously got ignored by every Republican in America, and most of the media during the 2016 campaign.

11. "Indiscriminate voters"

I admire your restraint in describing the morons who are so easily persuaded that Hillary's Jaywalking is the same as Trumps Felonies.

10. WaPo account totally different

"State Department probe of Clinton emails finds no deliberate mishandling of classified information

Source: Washington Post

A multiyear State Department probe of emails that were sent to former secretary of state Hillary Clinton’s private computer server concluded there was no systemic or deliberate mishandling of classified information by department employees, according to a report submitted to Congress this month.

The report appears to represent a final and anticlimactic chapter in a controversy that overshadowed the 2016 presidential campaign and exposed Clinton to fierce criticism that she later cited as a major factor in her loss to President Trump.

In the end, State Department investigators found 38 current or former employees “culpable” of violating security procedures — none involving material that had been marked classified — in a review of roughly 33,000 emails that had been sent to or from the personal computer system Clinton used.

Overall, investigators said, “there was no persuasive evidence of systemic, deliberate mishandling of classified information.” The report cited “instances of classified information being inappropriately” transmitted, but noted that the vast majority of those scrutinized “were aware of security policies and did their best to implement them.”

The story is a good example of slanted headline writing and a Friday news dump to hide the story.

This is, what, the tenth time she's been cleared on this issue alone?

12. That's the headline the NYT went for.

I don't know why I continue to summon up disgust instead of indifference. They've been doing this kind of thing since the early 90s and Whitewater. But still. Now, in the face of raging fascism. Still. Her emails.

When Trump inevitably uses that moniker again, the response should be "no, you can get bent".

19. Ok, it's goose and gander time...

Democrats should spend the same amount of time and money going over ALL the republican politicians' emails, PLUS ALL trump and family emails, PHISHING for bias and prejudice against Hillary, and the democratic party. Because that is all that THEY were doing. PHISHING.

Then let's do a comparison.

I think we would be able to come up with more than 38 "questionable" incidents. And no telling what OTHER questionable issues may arise...

Plus, I'm sure the vicious and vindictive nature of those emails will be self explainable.

But we will do nothing.
