NETANYAHU 55, GANTZ 54 AS PRESIDENT REUVEN RIVLIN CONCLUDES CONSULTATIONS

Source: Jerusalem Post

President Reuven Rivlin is set to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White leader Benny Gantz at 6:30 p.m. to announce which of them will form the next government.

Despite what was virtually a foregone conclusion, President Reuven Rivlin on Monday entered into a second round of consultations with the four remaining factions whose parties will represent the public in the incoming Knesset which, barring a third election, is set to be inaugurated next month.

3. How can we expect anything different

by doing the same things that caused the problems in the first place. That, my friends is insanity.
Elections seem to only serve the purpose of choosing who we would prefer to screw us over.
When in fact people just want peace, why would they vote for a someone bent on discord and chaos?
When in fact people just want security, why would they vote a someone who is clearly insecure?
When in fact people just want justice, why would they vote for a person who practices nothing but injustice?

Because we ourselves have gone mad, and governments are reflecting this fact.

This admonishment goes to the USA too.

4. Israel's problem is due to how their prime minister is chosen

There was an opinion in the Jerusalem Post today stating that if the PM was chosen from the party with most votes, it would alleviate much of this.

Right now the PM is determined by a bunch of backroom deals involving party bosses. There are a bunch of little parties that make deals with either Bibi or Gantz. Whoever makes the most deals becomes Prime Minister. Elections don't determine the Prime Minister.
