Women's March cutting ties with three original board members accused of anti-Semitism

Source: WaPo

The Womenís March is cutting ties with three inaugural board members who have been dogged by accusations of anti-Semitism, infighting and financial mismanagement ó controversies some say have slowed the organizationís progress and diminished its impact.

Co-Chairs Bob Bland, Tamika Mallory and Linda Sarsour stepped down from the board July 15, though the organization has been slow to announce their departures. The Womenís March website continued to host their photos and titles as co-chairs through this week, when the group announced the board turnover.

A diverse cast of 16 new board members that includes three Jewish women, a transgender woman, a former legislator, two religious leaders and a member of the Oglala tribe of the Lakota nation will inherit an organization recovering from a failed attempt to trademark the Womenís March name and fractured relationships with local activist groups and the Jewish community.

The shake-up comes at a critical time for the organization. With the 2020 election kicking into high gear, experts said organizers can no longer afford the distractions and controversies that have muddled the groupís message and loomed over its every move.

1. Good.

Those former co-chairs were simply corrupt and viciously anti-Semitic.

10. Sarsour is an official surrogate for Sanders, to no one's surprise

after that very public insult to HRC.

2. Get your act together!

I plan on attending the Women's March in January 2021 to celebrate trump's demise and our incoming President Elizabeth Warren! I'll be celebrating even harder if her VP is Kamala Harris!

6. Good. I would love to march in solidarity with them again, untainted by anti-Semitism. nt

9. Sarsour is already an official surrogate for Sanders, so I foresee a paid position for at least

her on that campaign, possibly the other two.

I'm sure their very public insulting snub to HRC in the first Women's March bestow on them them great "progressive bona fides" in certain circles.
