3. I worked at the US Post Office at the time "going Postal" was a thing.

And we had a lot of cranky men who owned lots of guns, and loved to talk about them.

Everyone in our office had a personal escape route picked out. (Me? I was gonna bust out through a parcel locker, then run like hell.)

We wondered, worried, talked and gossiped about whether a shooting would go down here, where we worked.

And some of the gun guys in the facility were not above exploiting the fear.
