Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) is reportedly expected to announce his candidacy for president, becom

Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) is reportedly expected to announce his candidacy for president, becoming the second prominent Republican to challenge President Trump for the party's nomination.

The New York Times reported Wednesday that Walsh, now a radio host, will announce his candidacy as early as the weekend. Walsh argued in an op-ed for the newspaper last week that the president needed a primary challenge from the right and told the Times in an interview that he would announce his intentions before Labor Day.

Walsh would join former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld (R), who announced his candidacy earlier this year, as the second Republican challenger to mount the long-shot challenge against Trump, whose approval rating among Republicans has hovered above 50 percent since he took office in 2017.

The former congressman supported Trump during the 2016 election but has hammered the president for his conduct in the years that followed. Earlier this year, he sharply criticized Trump over behavior outlined in Robert Mueller's report that detailed the results of the special counsel investigation into the Trump campaign.

2. Pretty sure he'd have to give up that microphone.

I don't believe anyone with a radio or TV show can run for office while they command a media audience. The reasons are obvious.

Having said that, I think Walsh will stick with what he knows will continue bringing home a steady paycheck. Unless he's blissfully ignorant, it's a stunt to gain listeners.

3. Is he the "you lie" guy?

The one who insulted Obama (who handled it well, of course) at the SOTU?

Also a deadbeat dad.

I googled him, and came up with the Eagles singer (not the congressman, LOL), whose big solo hit was...
I like big tits
You see 'em on the street
Left and right

The singer will probably want to change his name, so that we'll associate him with the sexist song, and not the deadbeat dad charge.

8. Joe Walsh is a guitarist who's sang a couple Eagles songs

Such as 'In The City' (from The Long Run) and 'Pretty Maids All in A Row' (from Hotel California).

Eagles singers were, for the most part, Don Henley and Glenn Frey (RIP). Honorable mention to Randy Meisner, for Take It To The Limit and Try and Love Again, two of my all time fave Eagles songs.

And Walsh's big solo hits (pre-or-circa first joining Eagles) are 'Life's Been Good' and 'Rocky Mountain Way' ... and he had some hits as a guitarist/vocalist in The James Gang, like 'Funk 49' (you've heard it, trust me), and 'Walk Away'.

None of those songs contain 'I Like Big Tits' as lyrics ... I'm not saying he never sung 'em (he was drunk for 30 years), but those are far, far from his most famous words.

16. Okay, maybe not his most famous lyrics, but it came up first when I googled his name-

Vulgarity warning. This probably was Brett Kavanaugh's second favorite song.

19. Lol ... yeah I didn't doubt ya, I do 'know' Joe Walsh as an artist ...

It sounded totally like something he'd sing a song about ... he always was a bit on the silly side. I actually dig the groove and guitar work in that song tbh.

Hey Frank Zappa had a song called Titties and Beer, and everyone loves Frank Zappa!

6. Good old Joe.

Bet he will be a whiz at shoring up the veterans vote!

He trashed Tammy Duckworth who lost both legs when her Black Hawk went down.

Walsh: "I respect Tammy's service, but where does she stand on the issues?"

This where she stands Joe.

The Democrat would win big then. Or win, anyway.

But I think the Democrat will win against Trump anyway.

10. Walsh Is As Big A Joke As Trump.....

This is just a stunt.

He was a 1 term Congressman from Illinois.

When he was running for his re-election - I saw people in his district shun him and laugh at him at a local parade. He looked like a lost sole walking around the grounds of an after parade festival. One would think that people would gather around a Congressman. In Walsh's case - people just avoided him and didn't want to be seen with him.

He finally slinked out of this event like a hurt puppy with his tail between his legs.

Fortunately - he didn't win his re-election and wound up as a radio personality with his own show.

Now he's just looking to extend or maybe get back his 15 minutes of fame.

We've actually seen that in 2016, and the GOP voters are so... venal?... they nominated him anyway.
