Trump appoints disgraced ex-GOP Gov Scott Walker to oversee scholars at the Smithsonian Institution

Source: Raw Story

President Donald Trump has appointed former Republican Gov. Scott Walker to an administration position following his defeat for re-election during the 2018 midterm elections.

As governor, Walker sought to drastically cut funding for the University of Wisconsin system. He was even caught trying to remove “the search for truth” from the guiding principles of the state’s university system.

Despite his history, Walker was appointed to a position overseeing scholarship.

On Tuesday Trump appointed Walker to the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson Internation Center for Scholars in the Smithsonian Institution.

4. Walker is being rewarded for launching an assault on democracy as he left the governor's office.

He finished up by signing legislation that would strip powers from the man who beat him.

21. Walker is a college dropout.

In the Wisconsin newspaper last night, I read that this "job" will keep him from considering (YES, he was considering) running for governor again!!! The cronies he left behind are still doing their damndest to ruin the (D) governors term in office. Planting roadblocks everywhere. He is as "educated" as tRump.

8. Still not finding it beyond them either but AP has him taking on a different job

Walker to take new job, won’t run for office in 2022
yesterday

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said he won’t run for office again in 2022 because he has accepted a new full-time job running a group based in Washington, D.C., that promotes conservative ideas among young people.

The Republican had been openly considering running for his old job as governor or for U.S. Senate in 2022. But Walker told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in a story published Monday that his job as president of the Young America’s Foundation, which is based in the Washington area, will make it impossible for him to run for office in 2022. “Starting January 2021, this will be full-time,” Walker told the Journal Sentinel of his new job. “I won’t be engaged in anything else. This will be my sole occupation.”

Walker said he was announcing his new job now, more than a year before it begins, so those considering running for governor or U.S. Senate knew his intentions early. Walker said that his term with Young America’s Foundation will begin after the current president steps down after more than 40 years. Walker did not immediately return a call from the Associated Press seeking comment.

Walker, 51, is expected to serve four years in the new position. Walker spent 26 years in elected office before being defeated in November by Democrat Tony Evers.

14. That's odd! Maybe it's like the made men on the Sopranos, who got "no work" jobs, and got paid,

and credited for the job, but didn't have to work!

Being a leader of a Young Republicans' group? Can't imagine young human beings even wanting to speak to something like Walker. Maybe that will be a "No Show" job.

17. Raw Story took it from a Maggie Haberman tweet

Their website does say there's a vacancy for the presidential appointee: https://www.wilsoncenter.org/leadership

"The Wilson Center, chartered by Congress as the living memorial to President Woodrow Wilson, is the nation’s key non-partisan policy forum. In tackling global issues through independent research and open dialogue, the Center informs actionable ideas for Congress, the administration, and the broader policy community."

There's no way it could be 'non-partisan' with Walker in charge. His purpose will be to obstruct independent research, close down dialogue, and lie to Congress and the broader policy community - unless that's to a Republican for party benefit.

More like grocery store bag boy who ran for office.

Trump's running out of the smarter republican zealots. Nothing left but the dregs of the barrel.

30. I'm starting to understand why

all those high-profile dudebro pundits and bloggers who told Dems to "send a message to the establishment" by staying home or voting third party in 2016 have been scrubbing their twitter history... Cowards don't want to own up to any responsibility for their actions.
