HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (AP) A North Carolina teacher has been charged with threatening to "shoot up" her school.

A news release from the Orange County Sheriff's Office says Kristen Thompson was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of communicating a threat of mass violence.

The sheriff's office says Thompson abruptly resigned Friday from Pathways Elementary School in Hillsborough. It says other teachers reported that Thompson "made threats to shoot up the school."

1. She must've been jonesin' pretty hard ...

I mean, among the other issues, all the crayons and paste you'd find around the campus ... would definitely clog your syringe pretty severely.

(to be clear, it's REALLY GOOD she was turned in before a tragedy, otherwise, I wouldn't be making light about the whole thing, obviously)

8. Thanks for that memory!

My Earth Science teacher in high school used to say that every time he erased the chalkboard--I'm going to get white lung disease!

Am I dating myself?

9. A popular brand of chalk was An-Du-Septic Chalk.

I expressed worry to my students that I would come down with Anduseptiosis.

5. Arm the students to protect them from dangerous teachers!

NRA types who want to arm teachers have clearly forgotten what school was like. There are plenty of teachers who lose their tempers with irritating students or administrators.

7. My Dad's a teacher

and he thinks arming teachers is a terrible idea. For one, a few students maybe could overpower the teacher and get access to the gun and second, what you said, a bad tempered teacher on a bad day with a bad student could lead to tragedy.
