Picture emerges of well-to-do young bombers behind Sri Lankan carnage

COLOMBO (Reuters) - Details began to emerge in Sri Lanka on Wednesday of a band of nine, well-educated Islamist suicide bombers, including a woman, from well-to-do families who slaughtered 359 people in Easter Sunday bomb attacks.

The Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks on three churches and four hotels. If that connection is confirmed, the attacks looks likely to be the deadliest ever linked to the group.

10. A lot of those stories, I didn't believe.

There were a couple of accounts where they were "identified" as being at the strip clubs because they had their Korans with them and were saying thing like, "Allah is great!".

Puh-leaze.

There was a tremendous amount of mis- and disinformation being thrown around immediately after the 9/11 attacks. I'm not a "truther", necessarily, but there was a lot of weird shit going on that time that still makes me wonder what the real story is.

They are rich themselves. That leaves mainly one reason...religious non-tolerance.

I’ve been dealing with a sick elderly dad, I missed the death toll going up so much. Wow. I can’t fathom that much hate against strangers.

Sri Lanka has revised down the death toll from Sunday's blasts by more than 100, to "about 253", the health ministry says.

It has blamed a calculation error.
