US Criticizes Vietnam's Ban on Suspected Cancer-Causing Herbicides

VOA News

The Trump administration says Vietnam’s decision to ban herbicides with an ingredient suspected of causing cancer will hurt, not help farmers.

Glyphosate is a chief ingredient in the best-selling herbicide Roundup. Vietnam says it will stop importing Roundup and all other weed killers with the chemical in June.

U.S. agriculture secretary Sonny Perdue says he is disappointed in Vietnam’s decision, saying it will have “devastating impacts.”

“If we’re going to feed 10 billion people by 2050, farmers worldwide need all the tools and technologies at our disposal,” he said Thursday.

Someone complained about it and asked for some words to be said. It has to be it. I hope I am wrong and maybe someone can explain how that's wrong, but I can't think of anything else that seem plausible.

12. We didn't just spray the Vietnamese,

my cousin has been in a wheelchair for 45 years with MS-like symptoms from Agent Orange.

I would never use Roundup and I eat organic foods and I'm not telling anyone else what to do, eat what you want. When food doesn't spoil that should tell people something. My potatoes , if left long enough will have eyes start to grow from them, GMO potatoes can't grow eyes.

Google Fox v Monsanto, a husband and wife who worked for a Fox affiliate in Florida did a story on farming. They exposed all of the use of Glyphosate, steroids, antibiotics and more. They submitted their report that were going to air on TV. Monsanto got involved and edited their report. The reporters refused to air the edited version because it was a lie. Fox fired them. They sued in court and won, the 1st case, they lost the appeal case. The decision basically said that the Fox employees were obligated to report the lies on TV, that they were insubordinate and Fox had every right to fire them.

22. First Agent Orange, now Roundup: what's Monsanto up to in Vietnam? Ecologist Special Investigation

https://theecologist.org/2016/oct/10/first-agent-orange-now-roundup-whats-monsanto-vietnam-ecologist-special-investigation

As Vietnam embraces American culture, the US food gang is back in force - McDonalds, Starbucks, KFC, Coca-Cola.
And Monsanto.
Well, Monsanto does not exactly advertise its presence because it is more on the Apocalypse Now side of things. Actually, when it comes to the food chain, Monsanto is more like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - War, Pestilence, Famine and Death.
As Monsanto rides roughshod over farmers, buys off politicians and pays off scientists, the Four Horsemen could easily be symbolic for the four GM crops they control: GM corn, cotton, soybeans and canola (rapeseed).

30. Yeah, I worked for Owens Illionois,

the Owens Corning division made asbestos and they knew it caused asbestosis. They are still paying out claims to people. This is a fact, Hitler knew about the dangers of asbestos and he protected his workers against exposure to it.

I worked around methyl chloride, we used it as an adhesive to stick labels to glass bottles. I got cancer, can't prove where I got it from, but I got it fixed soon enough that I have been cancer free for 20 years.

That's one thing about cancer, sometimes it takes a while to kill you and a doctor rarely says how you got it.

I do organic and home grown food, I don't need to buy food that never spoils because it is full of preservatives and poison. Oh and the organic food tastes better.

Oh, here's another one. My friend who was born with 1 kidney got cancer in it. He went to the Cleveland clinic where the doctor told him he planned to take out 30% of his kidney. The doctor took out 70% of his kidney, because something else was attacking it, Prilosec. That's according to a surgeon from the Cleveland clinic. My friend is doing fine and doesn't even need dialysis. He stopped taking Prilosec for his heart burn though.

44. We are being bombarded by things that cause cancer.

The manufacturers know it as do the government agencies that are supposed to regulate such things. It's all about greed. Parabens are yet another thing that is in so many products that we put on our skin and it's absorbed into our bodies. The list goes on and on.

Isn't tRump trying to bring asbestos back into the country? I think he wants to import it from Russia if I remember correctly.

Now I'm curious how far up the chain from Perdue we'd have to go to find lobbyist money tied to Monsanto, DuPont, Dow, etc.

I believe glyphosate makes the eggs too permeable and frogs can’t reproduce.

Frog species are going extinct from chytrid fungus in high numbers right now. It’s not a good time.

39. And then there is this great video clip.

Glyphosate is a key component in Monsanto's "Round-Up"

Four years ago, in an interview with a reporter from French television station Canal+, shill-Meister and grifting phony. Dr. Patrick Moore, claimed it was safe. In fact, so safe you could "drink it!"

So, on camera, the French reporter handed him a glass of it! And, as they say, hilarity ensued:

YouTube; about 2-minutes:

We continue to turn a blind eye on political corruption that allows the producers of dangerous substances to openly bribe the government to protect their greed.
People die.
The environment is polluted.
Our future is at risk.
Water is toxic.
The food supply is contaminated.

It won't stop until we get serious and demand and end to the money that is destroying the pitiful remains of our democracy.
