"People ought to recognize that almost everything that Trump is saying about the economy is totally baloney," Stockman, a frequent Trump critic, told hosts Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton on "Rising."

"We're in deep trouble. We're at the end of a long business cycle that has been very weak, and that he's proposed a catastrophe of a fiscal plan," he continued.
.........................................

"When you look at it, it's an insult to fiscal intelligence, to say nothing of common sense," he said. "He's proposing to add $4 trillion to the deficit just in the next four years."
................................."

Trump's proposed budget request includes large cuts to domestic spending, including programs like Medicare and Medicaid, while boosting defense spending and requesting $8.6 billion in new funding for a border wall. ........................................

6. Can you please elaborate?

I am not sure I understand who are those "both full of baloney", and why the concern for the deficit is laughable? If I recall correctly, the deficit that Reagan brought to the country was a real problem, one that GH Bush was not able to control...My understanding is that deficits ARE a problem, but maybe you have a better hold of economic principles and can explain. I do consider myself a neophyte when it comes to economics, I wish I knew more. I also hope I understood your post. Thank you.

9. reagan's budget director david stockman's concern

that's all i'm referring to. it's quite ironic for him to be the voice of reason here.

deficits are a problem, I guess. mainly for democrats whenever they're in power. for republics, not so much.

GHW Bush broke his tax pledge because he had a scintilla of a conscience regarding deficit spending. his son had no such thing. trump DGAF, and his advisors are TV clowns.

Clinton balanced the budget and got impeached for his pains. Obama got put in a straightjacket by GOP austerity histrionics.

it's not that hard to solve our deficit. cut the DoD by 1/3, stop tax deductible organization frauds both religious and political, double the maximum amount of income taxed for SSI, and repeal Bush II & Trump's tax bills. easy peasy!

8. My favourite book from you is "Cat's Cradle"

My take on why "impeachment is wrong at this time".

1. It will definitely divide the country and it usually doesn't work well for the opposing party.
2. It will allow Pence to become president, and he is more dangerous than the orange buffoon. While the orange buffoon is spewing stupidity everywhere, getting us all rattled up, Pence is in the background create havoc.
2.1 Pence looks normal, he could be re-elected in 2020, and we all know he is far from normal. After having a deranged buffoon as president, Pence will look normal.

Those are my two reasons for not wanting impeachment...

What Democrats need to do is:
1. Be very proactive to make sure the repubs do not cheat.
2. Make sure all the Democratic servers have heavy security protection to make it impossible to hack. France was able to do it...talk to the French if you have to.
3. Make sure the message is very clear, show the numbers, the economy and jobs are going down every month, and it has to be made very clear that the good economy was left by Obama and the buffoon and his cronies are destroying it.
4. With numbers, show the buffoons followers how they are not better today as they were when Obama was president.
5. Show comments from our allies.
6. Elevate their patriotism (if they have any) going against Russia and Putin.
7. Talk to the people in plain English so they all understand the message.
8. Keep hammering about the corruption that exists today in the administration.
And there is more, of course, but the most important thing is to defeat any repub who runs for president, and that should be the orange buffoon, to defeat him and get rid of all the corrupt senators as well.

3. In a way it doesn't matter what Trump's plan will do.

His budget wish list is already in Nancy Pelosi's garbage can.

4. This guy did the exact same thing in the 80's

Ditched social programs causing long term negative effects on the most vulnerable in society, while increasing military spending (Remember that whole Star Wars fail fiasco?) and tripled the debt. Nothing good came of it. Maybe this is his envy talking.

5. Yes, indeed!

Funny words coming from the dean of the "Trickle-Down School of Economic Bull Shit!"

He may be right but I wonder why he cares now. Maybe like Newt and Ricky Santorum - looking for a way to spread bullshit and make money.

7. This makes his comments even more damning. The debt tripled under Reagan.

When an expert in Reaganomics tells you your fiscal policies (which are cut from the same cloth) are crap, you know he's telling the truth. The phrase "don't bullshit a bullshitter" comes to mind.

10. Hold on, hold on. OT, but ...

Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton?? Really.
Is it a news show or a porno?
Those are some interesting names.

Oh, and both Dump and Stockman can go eff themselves.
