Trump Admits: 'I Didn't Need' to Declare National Emergency 'But I'd Rather Do it Much Faster'

Source: Mediaite

President Donald Trump bristled in the White House Rose Garden on Friday when he faced questions about his declaration of a national emergency to get the federal funding he needs to start constructing his southern border wall.

When NBC’s Peter Alexander got the mic, he noted that Trump told Fox & Friends in 2014 that former president Barack Obama could be impeached for supposedly abusing his constitutional authority by using executive orders to enact his immigration agenda. Alexander also noted that by signing Congress’ latest bipartisan border security deal, he’d be getting less money than he would’ve gotten if he accepted the deal that was presented to him before the government’s recent shutdown.

At that point, Trump interjected before Alexander got to his actual question, insisting “I went through Congress, I made a deal.”

“I got almost $1.4 billion when I wasn’t supposed to get one dollar,” Trump said. “Well, I got $1.4 billion, but I’m not happy with it…I didn’t need to do this, but I’d rather do it much faster.”

Unfortunately, 4 of the 9 are definitely on the take for the right wing and often there are 5. Will Roberts stop the destruction of our constitution or is propping up the right wing dictator more important than our founding document? We will find out soon.

It will be Exhibit A in the TRO motions that will almost certainly be filed this afternoon.

8. About Trump interrupting before reporters get to their actual question...

He ALWAYS does that. When will they learn to stop setting up their actual question with a long-winded delivery that gives him the opportunity to interrupt with comments? When will they stop asking two questions at the same time so he gets to choose which one to answer? I saw some pushback today but not enough. They need to learn how to ask simple, short, direct questions.

stop to weigh options, procrastinate, etc. This "emergency" is about on par with someone showing up in the ER with a hangnail after contemplating what to do about it for months. It's bullshit, and he should have been laughed out of the room.

Don't allow the Republican Owned Media to continuously get you focused on Trump.....................

The Reality is, that the attention should be focused on the Republican Senate that is allowing and in fact enabling him to do all this crap.

PEOPLE, FOCUS ON THE REPUBLICAN SENATORS AND REPUBLICAN HOUSE MEMBERS.....................

Then expand it by declaring many other issues for himself as National Emergencies to use against us all. He's trying to cuse it to consolidate more power for himself.

Does that mean he can tie up these funds while the issue is litigated? Or can they continue to be used where they were intended?
