White House says Trump undecided on deal to avert another shutdown
Source: Reuters
FEBRUARY 12, 2019 / 8:17 AM / UPDATED 11 MINUTES AGO WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump has not yet decided whether to back a deal hammered out by congressional negotiators to avert another partial government shutdown, the White House said on Tuesday, putting the future of the agreement that contains funds for U.S.-Mexican border security but not his promised wall in doubt. Democratic and Republican negotiators reached the tentative deal on Monday night on border security provisions and money to keep several government agencies including the Department of Homeland Security funded through Sept. 30, the end of the current fiscal year. Temporary funding for about a quarter of the government is due to expire on Friday. “I am cautiously optimistic that we will get this through,” Democratic Representative Nita Lowey, who chairs the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee, told CNN. “We cannot shut the government down.” Asked if the Republican president had signaled support for the bipartisan deal, Lowey did not answer directly, but said it had the backing of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats, who control the chamber. 4. If he doesn't take this deal
and the airports shut down, the next deal will be worse for him. He should just call it a down payment on the wall and walk away, like he usually does.

5. What in HELL is in this for the gop?
WHY do they cater to this orange impostor? He is far from smart, and they HAVE to be aware of that. WHY are they siding with his stupid wall demands. Who benefits from this, apart from tRump (a cut of the materials to build this useless wall) They surely know that the voters will not support them at their next elections if the government shuts down yet again. tRump claimed the shutdown, and the next one will be his, too.

7. Because he is their route to steal things like SCOTUS and federal judgeship positions as well as
things like tax cuts for them and the other ultra wealthy.
In other words they really do not care who they support as long as they get what they want and they would even hook up with people like Putin, Hitler or even Lucifer if that would get them what they want. |

8. I hope the idiot vetoes it
The only thing that's going to wake up his base is more pain. They hate government but they rely on government far more than us.
Let them learn the hard way. It's the only way they know how to learn. |
