WHEN IN THE HELL ARE OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS GOING TO DO THEIR DAMNED JOB AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS???? THE NRA HAS BEEN RUNNING OUR COUNTRY LONG ENOUGH.... WE NEED TO TAKE BACK CONTROL AND HAND THE REIGNS OVER TO SOMEONE WHO ISN'T BEHOLDEN TO THE GUN INDUSTRY.

(46,314 posts)According to conservative estimates, the US has 300+ million guns.
And felons can't own guns, they get busted constantly.
So should the ATF goons go door-to-door ransacking homes for the "wrong" guns?

(1,388 posts)Doing basically nothing has led us to where we are today, correct? Making sure "that every good guy has a gun" has not not solved the problem. There are more bad guys with guns, too. And now there are so many fucking guns that you cant even imagine a solution. The mass big, high profile shootings last years were all done with legally acquired firearms.
I live in Montana. Most of my friends hunt. They are responsible gun owners. Many have hand guns for personal defense. They are responsible with those as well. Responsibility goes hand in hand with rights. The amount of responsibility that you should have to assume with a right that is potentially leathal and is proving to be a problem for society, should be much greater than say, voting.
Would you please give me some examples where ATF agents are goons. When I see them on the news they seem to be inforcing laws on people who are breaking them. It sounds like a hard gig. And the bad guys have guns.

(46,314 posts)Do we send ATF people, (I think I mis-judged them as "goons," ) door to door ransacking houses looking for "wrong" guns?
And the NRA is a gun sales lobby. Nothing more.

(25,839 posts)Another day in America. Another shooting. Who cares? I mean, okay, those immediately affected (the dead, the wounded, those near to them) care, but no one else cares. Least of all those who could actually do something about this carnage.
I say, confiscate the guns.
