Trump, GOP blamed for shutdown; no crisis seen but fewer oppose wall (POLL)

Source: ABC News

A majority of Americans hold Donald Trump and congressional Republicans mainly responsible for the partial federal shutdown, now the longest in history, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.

Only a quarter back Trumpís claim that thereís a crisis at the southern border and two-thirds oppose him declaring a national emergency to fund a wall there, according to the poll.

Fifty-three percent in the national survey said that Trump and the GOP are mainly responsible for the shutdown, while 29 percent blamed congressional Democrats, nearly a 2-1 margin against the president and his party. Thirteen percent said both equally are at fault. (Slightly fewer, 48 percent, blamed Trump and his party during the brief partial shutdown a year ago.)

Responsibility is assigned largely along party lines. But while 85 percent of Democrats and 78 percent of liberals mainly blamed Trump and the GOP for the partial shutdown, fewer Republicans (68 percent) or conservatives (50 percent) mainly blamed the Democrats in Congress. A third of conservatives said Trump and the congressional Republicans are at fault.

The article also notes that support for the wall has increased from 34 to 42% in the last year, with opposition to the wall declining from 63 to 54%. That change is mostly due to support for the wall increasing among Republicans, and among whites.

5. Not surprising that some of the more gullible fell for the caravan stunt

You'd think he'd actually be able to drum up more support given he went all out with the propaganda, complete with sending in the military.

7. All Democrats in Congress

Should start having town hall meeting for them now to voice their opinions , and to publicly show support against trump and the gop in Congress for doing this, and allowing it to continue, and for allowing them to be hurt by trump and the gop now .

8. People may look at it this way:

Give the child his way. Not like normal 2 year olds who you have to raise until they are 18, this child goes away in two years. Start on the wall, work nice and slow, stop when the idiot leaves.

Trump should be thrown out of office for failing to run the government. That's his fucking job now.
