Dems livid after Tlaib vows to 'impeach the motherf--er'

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: Politico

House Democrats are furious that an incoming freshman’s expletive-riddled statement about impeaching Donald Trump has suddenly upended their carefully crafted rhetoric on their plans to take on the president.

...snip...

“Mueller hasn’t even produced his report yet!” said Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis.), referring to special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe. “People should cool their jets a little bit, let the prosecutors do their job and finish the investigation.”

“Inappropriate,” added Rep. Jim Costa (D-Calif.). “As elected officials I think we should be expected to set a high bar… It’s not helpful.”

Even Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), who introduced an impeachment resolution earlier this week, was shocked. His eyes bulged in disbelief when a reporter read him Tlaib’s comments and he was speechless for several seconds.

Sure, she can be expelled to an island, and have to wear the statement on her own. Im sure she's okay with that.

Republicans do it all the time. One of them says something outrageous, which conveniently gives their base a huge bump. Other establishment R's distance themselves and say they 'disapprove'. "nudge nudge, wink wink". But the message is out. And sorry for all those Dems still living in some previous innocent decade, but the public actually not only uses more obscenities in life and in entertainment they watch, but they actually respect the "telling it like it is" and don't give a damn about rudeness, at least in the political sphere. If Donald's base has no problem with strong language, why do these Democrats think we will? Sometimes I wonder just how much of a bubble they live in.

WE don't need Mueller to produce anything to start making this case. The man is already an unindicted co-conspirator in an court document from a guilty plea. The president claims to "grab em by the pussy" calls people "horseface". Why is the democratic party so timid in talking impeachment about a person that most people want impeached? Dems should just ignore the pearl-clutching and couch-fainting from the media and point to Trump as the REAL person who is lowering American discourse.

Fri Jan 4, 2019, 06:35 PM

It's almost a running joke on Twitter. Hillary vs. Warren. Pelosi vs. AOC. All clickbait bc their old middle conservative or self-hating liberal readership basically doesn't exist anymore so they work on whatever can stir up trouble. Kind of a political TMZ.

Time for someone to light a fire under the dolts ass. I think its already started, but the leaders don't want to descuss it yet.

I’ve seen photos of his mother. She doesn’t look like his type. I think he’d like to be a daughterf—r, but that’s something very different.

Otherwise, I think Tlaib was completely accurate.

supporters as deplorable, referring to those supporters who had racist, sexist views.

Ironically, some of those same posters who are cheering the "mother f**king" comment on now, had a problem with the person referring to the bigots who supported trump as deplorable.

Jan 2019

They're her words and from where I stand she admits to owning them. Ain't freedom of speech grand?

I prefer those who play their cards close to their vests but that's just me. I also prefer the feisty, fighters. Something tells me she falls in that catagory. To quote an Apollo 8 astronaut, "We weren't candy asses."

Clearly, there are times when profanity is appropriate.

Having a sociopath for a president is one of those times, imo.

More to the point, stress is addictive and contagious. Politico is depending on its readers being infected with stress. The popularity generated by this post seems to support that notion.
