Romney: Voters can look to 'principles' for sense of how he'd govern
Source: NBC News
Mitt Romney argued Sunday that voters should have enough of a sense of his principles to have confidence in how he'd handle the nitty-gritty details of taxes, spending and health care as president.
-snip-
Romney's tax plan calls for making a 20 percent, across-the-board cut to marginal tax rates while keeping most existing taxes on investment the same (and cutting investment taxes altogether for households earning less than $200,000.) The former Massachusetts governor has argued that if "we limit or eliminate some of the loopholes and deductions at the high end," he could maintain current levels of tax revenue while also stimulating growth.
But, pressed for specifics, Romney resisted, and said his "principles" make up the details of his policy.
"The specifics are these, which is those principles I described are the heart of my policy," he said. "And I've indicated as well that contrary to what the Democrats are saying I'm not going to increase the tax burden on middle income families. It would absolutely be wrong to do that."

Use leveraged money to buy a company for much less then it was worth,
load that company w/ massive debt that you have no intention of repaying,
charge that company large "management fees", outsource the work, loot the
pension funds, fire the workers & sell off the bones of the company, shift the
cost of the workers health insurance to the government, walk with millions
of $s, and then hid your money in overseas bank accounts.

The article is eye-opening. A wall street insider says that Romney's Bain work was actually a "bust-out", a mob technique for "making" money.

In CEO speak, you make broad, generalized pronouncements and tell your PEOPLE to figure out how to do it.
In other words, he won't have to do anything but PONTIFICATE from the Oval Office, (or, more likely from one of his vacation homes) and have his "people" do the dirty work.

As another thread pointed out, his god is gold and his purpose is purely unenlightened self aggrandizement.

(4,252 posts)That was the most important. It seems Romney and Ryan really think it is okay to lie. That is very bad principals in my opinion.
I also taught them to share. They were helpful to the less fortunate and my younger son's favorite project was the homeless.
and to be respectful and to be world citizens, although we are all proud of being Canadian.
I remember visiting NJ relatives and my 10 year old asked where are all the people of color. He was used to being in a Toronto school filled with kids around the world.
And when he was a man and I moved into a neighborhood he thought was all white, he said the Why was was I moving into a "white bread" neighborhood. It turned out it wasn't. My street was a little UN.
I taught them it was okay to be dirty and disagree with courtesy. And they loved all kinds of foods and customs.
They didn't get a car when they were old enough to car, nor did I pay for their education. They worked for everything..

(32 posts)Mittens, your "principles" make up for details in your policy? Hahahahaha Lol. Incredible!! I get it Willard, I just took a second look at a few of your "principles".................
1) Pathological lying
2) Say different things to different groups of people to make them happy.
3) Have no position on any issue, or have all positions.
4) Claim to love America but bet against the dollar and the economy.
5) Hide your money in foreign banks and tax heavens.
6) Avoid paying taxes by using every trick and loop hole in the book.
7) Always wear your magic underwear.
8) Refuse to make your taxes and finances known to the american people even though your
father taught you to be honest by releasing 12 years of his tax returns.
9) Misquote the President for political gains.
10) Say nothing about your record at Bain, Massachusett, or Salt Lake City winter olympics.
Mittens, these are not principles I will rely on for any details. Sorry!
