Trump Hits Back At 'Failed Generals' Who Were 'Unable To Do The Job' Over Syria Withdrawal Criticism
Source: Mediaite
by Colby Hall | Dec 31st, 2018, 8:32 am President Donald Trump is pushing back on criticism about the sudden announcement from a week and a half ago about plans to remove U.S. troops from Syria and that ISIS was defeated. This decision reportedly came despite advice from military and intelligence leadership and eventually led to the protest resignation from Secretary of Defense James Mattis. On New Year’s Eve, President Trump apparently felt the need to clear the air and defend his position via a short series of tweets that explained his process as a simple fulfillment of his campaign promise. And, as his is wont, he included some not-so-subtle digs at his detractors. Link to tweet Link to tweet Link to tweet Following the announced plans to withdrawal, Trump has received bipartisan criticism for the planned withdrawal. Senator Lindsey Graham, a close Senate ally to the White House, notably was vocal in pushing back on this plan, though his rhetoric has softened more recently. Trump’s dig at “some failed generals” is certainly a dig at Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who in a recent interview with ABC News’ Martha Raddatz, spared little criticism for a president who he sees as “immoral. ### Read more: https://www.mediaite.com/online/trump-hits-back-at-failed-generals-who-were-unable-to-do-the-job-over-syria-withdrawal-criticism/

There, I said I shouldn't say this.
I don't remember all the plots of movies that have pictured this - Seven Days in May, etc. But I don't want to be an actor in his farce. |

4. Looks like Qatar,
isn't going to get its natural gas to the EU. The pipeline needs to go through Syria and Assad has denied the OK.
This is why Putin befriended Assad, he wants to build the Iran-Iraq-Syria pipeline to get natural gas to the EU. Natural gas was discovered near Homs in Syria also. Putin wants Gazprom to be the investor/operator of the pipeline. You can see this pipeline issue is also a Sunni v Shia issue. The US has backed the Sunni/Qatar pipeline which is the real reason we pushed for the removal of Assad. Saudi Arabia is also behind this. Putin's intervention in Syria put a monkey wrench in the Sunni's plans. Trump's withdrawal of US troops from Syria will be one more step for Gazprom to build the Putin backed pipeline. |

12. Pretty well explained.
Thanks.
I can never keep track of who wants what for whom which gas, oil lines, go where. I bought a red Honda just so I can find my car in the grocery parking lot.. and sometimes I STILL forget where I put it. ![]() |

19. But there is more.
Russia needs to go through Ukraine to supply its gas to Europe. Its lease is up in 2020 and Ukraine discovered it has tons of shale gas. Ukraine used to buy most of its gas from Russia but now it has weaned itself off of Russian gas. Enter Hillary and others who wanted to help Ukraine develop its shale gas and cut off Russia, Ukraine could supply gas to Europe.
Do you see why Putin hates Hillary? Do you see why Putin wanted Trump? There were rumors that Putin gave someone(maybe Trump) a piece of Gazprom. Putin needs that right of way through Ukraine so he can ship gas from Russia and also from the proposed Iran-Iraq-Syria pipeline. The whole right of way mess is in the courts and if Putin doesn't get a favorable judgment one can see why he wants to take over Ukraine. One can also see why he wants US troops out of Syria. |

Then someone, like you, informs again and it comes back. Thanks for the reminders.. ![]() |

bitching and moaning about your unilateral withdrawal from Syria, including Israel. Don't go around blaming the military boys either. They are simply following orders, whether they're dumb or not. So, it's a reflection on you, all 100% you.
This very poor decision was made solely by you without any input from our American intelligence agencies. As many other posters on DU have said, obviously you had a call from putin. |
