. . .

In a written testimony obtained with newspaper newspaper El Tiempo, the former chief of demobilized paramilitary organization AUC, Salvatore Mancuso, reiterated he would name people and companies that supported the death squads that partially demobilized between 2003 and 2006.

Mancuso, who is currently in prison in the United States, is waiting for a decision from the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) on whether he will be included in the transitional justice process.

. . .

The former AUC chief said he would also provide information on the so-called “para-economy,” the use of death squads by businessmen, state officials and top military commanders to displace farmers for the economic benefit of agro-industrial businesses.

2. You bet! That happens a lot. This guy has probably done it to someone else in a similar position!

He was a very big deal for a long time, but I'm sure he'll never be really safe again.

Very rough bunch in Colombia, for sure.
