Trump: Keystone XL court ruling 'a disgrace'

Source: The Hill

BY TIMOTHY CAMA - 11/09/18 10:12 AM EST

President Trump slammed a federal judge’s late Thursday ruling that blocked the Keystone XL oil pipeline, calling it “a disgrace.”

“It was a political decision made by a judge. I think it’s a disgrace,” Trump told reporters as he left the White House Friday morning, heading to France.

“48,000 jobs. I approved it. It’s ready to start,” he added. The State Department has estimated that the project would provide up to 42,000 temporary construction jobs, but just 35 direct permanent jobs once completed.

Trump indicated that his administration would appeal the ruling from Montana federal judge Brian Morris to the San Francisco-based Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which has often ruled against his administration.

Trump: George Conway is ‘just trying to get publicity for himself’

BY TAL AXELROD - 11/09/18 10:14 AM EST

President Trump on Friday criticized George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, for an op-ed he co-wrote slamming the president's appointment of Matt Whitaker as acting attorney general.

“You mean Mr. Kellyanne Conway? He's just trying to get publicity for himself," Trump told reporters when asked about the op-ed. "Why don't you do this, why don't you ask Kellyanne that question, all right? She might know him better than me.”

Conway co-wrote the op-ed with Neal Katyal, who served as acting solicitor general during the Obama administration. The two argued that Whitaker’s appointment to temporarily replace former Attorney General Jeff Sessions is in violation of the Appointments Clause of the Constitution, which stipulates that principal officers must be confirmed by the Senate.

“President Trump’s installation of Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general of the United States after forcing the resignation of Jeff Sessions is unconstitutional," they wrote. "It’s illegal. And it means that anything Mr. Whitaker does, or tries to do, in that position is invalid.”

I approve the message that he is disgraceful. I'm using my tRump rule here. If he says something about others, he is actually talking about himself!

and let Rosenstein ascend to the position as provided by the DOJ rules?

Trump just said, "I don't know Matt Whitaker," but MSNBC has the transcript of an interview with Fox News from a month ago where he said, "I know Matt Whitaker, I like him."

This guy has a vocabulary that's seven pages long.

Teddy Ruxpin was a better orator and made more sense. At least Teddy used complete sentences.

Much like those from his supporters, who open their mouths only to describe themselves.
