The Trump administration has sued California over a new law imposing net neutrality protections.
The lawsuit filed Sunday by the U.S. Department of Justice came roughly an hour after Gov. Jerry Brown signed the law.
The Federal Communications Commission last year repealed rules preventing internet companies from exercising more control over what people watch and see on the internet.

Update is forthcoming...

(7,805 posts)The Tweet alert came to me; and the title was exact to the Tweet (if you take time to notice, the AP Tweet provided no article link - and I did post that the link would be "forthcoming"
As noted, the current working title is almost exact to the Tweet title.
There was no slight.

Title was not exact to the tweet when you posted at 12:06.
Then I posted at 12:10.
Then you edited at 12:14 when you corrected the title, changing "heat" to " net" and "BILL" to "law", an action which you now bizarrely deny.
The Google "amp" link you post goes to an article about supervised injection drug laws.
Here is the real link without the Google tracking "amp" stuff you neglected to trim out: https://apnews.com/5f91111e4a2b4c72852da2ef2b3cc76f But it is of course the article about supervised injection drug laws.

(54,827 posts)You posted a garbled title with the word "overheat". I pointed it out. You corrected it and objected to my pointing it out. Sheesh yourself. LOL.

(14,420 posts)Too much is directed at Trump. If this is explained properly, without the holier than thou tone. Explained in layman terms what Republicans are trying to do and how that effects ALL internet users, not just Democrats.

None of U.S. want the net quashed
Except those who want the facts quashed.

(7,805 posts)But the banter that Twitter is not a source, for news, is just - plain - bull.
News is the revelation of facts from a source, having exposure capacity, en mass.
Amore prudent remark is that MSM tends not to be news.
Any agenda on Twitter tends to fail, immediately.
Whereas agenda on MSM often succeeds (case in point, the Donald); because it is incessant and pervasive.

(6,962 posts)...they want on the Supreme Court.
But part of me is wondering if this is a trap for the Dump Admin. They go nuts, sue California, get the Supreme Court to rule in their favor and California can't impose net neutrality. So, California then creates a massive tax on companies that do not have net neutrality. It's in the state's interest to tax revenues gained by "sales" due to no net neutrality. Basically, tax for profit internet providers...and minimal or no tax for non-profit internet providers.
