Texas police arrest man for allegedly setting fire outside Dem lawmaker's office: reports

A Texas man was reportedly arrested Wednesday after police say he started a fire outside of Rep. Lloyd Doggett’s (D-Texas) office in San Antonio.

Police said Richard Casares, 33, lit a fence on fire next to Doggett’s office, according to media reports.

The fire almost reached Doggett’s roof before firefighters stepped in and extinguished it, police said, according to mysanantonio.com.

Casares admitted to starting the fire and was charged with arson and criminal mischief, the website reported. Police reportedly said they don’t believe Casares was targeting Doggett or his office.
