1. Oh, my. I hate to hear this. Trey Gowdy said there's no support for the bill...

but apparently there is. Maybe Gowdy only said that to quieten people down before they submit it for a vote.

If this is the beginning of the end of something, that something is the Mueller investigation. Not Trump. These guys have shown repeatedly that they will NOT move on Trump. They are getting what they want. THey have formed an alliance with him. He is they, and they are he.

12. The Senate would only have a "trial" for a conviction

The House does the "Impeachment" (i.e., "indictment" and could still go forward with it if it is not tabled.

4. Rosenstein

This cannot go anywhere. Even in the very unlikely event that it makes it out of the House, there is no way it will get the 2/3 required in the Senate.

9. Bring it on, and let it fail. Even if they get enough votes in the House....

....which probably won't happen, there's NO way they're going to get 67 votes in the Senate.

Conservative lawmakers introduce resolution to impeach Rod Rosenstein, who oversees special counsel probe on Russia

By Washington Post Staff
July 25, 2018 at 7:24 PM

The move by Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) marks a dramatic escalation in the battle over Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein and the special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

It also sets up a showdown with House Republican leaders, who have distanced themselves from calls to remove Rosenstein from office. But Meadows and Jordan stopped short of forcing an immediate vote on the measure, sparing Republican lawmakers for now from a potential dilemma.

Meadows and Jordan are leaders of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, a bloc whose members have been among Rosensteinís most persistent critics
