Polls: Trump approval sags in trio of Midwest states

Source: NBC News

WASHINGTON — In three politically important Midwest states — including two that were key in deciding the 2016 election — President Donald Trump’s job approval rating is below 40 percent, and Democrats hold a sizable lead for the upcoming congressional midterms, according to a trio of new NBC News/Marist polls.

In Michigan, which Trump won by nearly 11,000 votes, 36 percent of registered voters approve of the president’s job, while 54 percent disapprove.

In Wisconsin, which he won by about 23,000 votes, another 36 percent give Trump a thumbs up, with 52 percent giving him a thumbs down.

And in Minnesota, which Trump narrowly lost by 1.5 percentage points, his rating stands at 38 percent approve, 51 percent disapprove.

This seems encouraging.

In Michigan, 45 percent of voters prefer a Democratic-controlled Congress, while 36 percent want a GOP-controlled Congress (D+9).

In Minnesota, it’s 48 percent preferring the Democrats, to 36 percent backing the Republicans (D+12).

And in Wisconsin, Democrats hold a 47 percent-to-39 percent lead in congressional preference (D+8).

Let's just hope this support carries over to the districts it's most needed in November.

Good to see that our neighbors to the east are maybe coming to their senses and will finally shed their Koch-sucker pols.

The Trump org actually believes it can pick off Minnesota and Colorado in 2020. Even said as much about two months ago.

Hopefully, with the right candidate on the Dem side, voters will see Dolt45 coming in 2020...

Close doesn't matter in a race

Before chiding Minnesota about presidential election results, lets look at 1984...

"It's all working out. Just remember: What you're seeing and what you're reading is not what's happening." - Trump

He's gonna pull this con job all the way to election day. We really must beat this back or mankind is doomed for a thousand years.

He made a lot of promises on trade and specifically cited soybeans as one product that would benefit. In reality, sales of U.S. soybeans increased already in April when China refused to buy a huge shipment, so European countries bought them at greatly reduced prices. China has turned to Brazil to supply soybeans, which has resulted in higher prices there. The European buyers cancelled orders for Brazilian soybeans to get the lower cost U.S. shipments, so the market hasn’t actually increased—it’s just changed buyers. China still remains the largest buyer of all soybeans, not the E.U.

Ok. That's asking a lot but someday just maybe enough of them will give up their pride and quietly admit they were conned.

They'll never admit it out loud, but maybe in the quiet privacy of the voting booth, they will.

And only he can do it? What then? Would they flip-flop and say he deserves another chance?
