US House Committee Passes Anti-Gay Amendment Allowing Taxpayer-Funded Adoption Agencies to Discriminate

By DAVID BADASH JULY 11, 20183:32 PM

The U.S. House of Representatives' Appropriations Committee Wednesday afternoon passed an amendment that would allow adoption agencies that receive taxpayer funds to refuse to allow LGBT people to adopt, by citing their religious objections to same-sex marriage or LGBT people. The legislation is so broad it allows adoption agencies to discriminate against anyone, merely by claiming a religious or morally-based objection.

The Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act is a 2017 bill that was inserted as an amendment into a 2019 funding bill for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, as HRC noted.

The legislation is designed not to protect children in need of homes and families – a large percentage of whom are LGBTQ – but to "protect child welfare service providers’ exercise of religion," according to the bill's text.

It would "prohibit governmental entities from discriminating" against a child welfare service provider for exercising its "sincerely held religious beliefs or moral convictions."

when should ones particular religion rule. This is so damn absurd, it's hard to even wrap your head around it. Just what is next. Phew, if I were looking for a place to live, the US would slide pretty far down the list.

Also, millions upon millions live in poverty in the US, how often do we hear about them and helping them. Many Americans are brainwashed IMO to accept this shit and crap like it as the new normal. And that, is dangerous.

What many Trumpeters can't seem to get, is that in the big picture they are going to be rolled over too. It's how dictatorships work. I swear, many Americans need to go back and study history, if they even ever did.

But it comes with a cost ..... see link below.

BTW I have come to the conclusion Trump is Russian agent working to destroy
America and its allies from the inside because Putin owns him.

In southeast Missouri's Trump Country, a manufacturer wrestles with the negative side of Trump's tariffs

With so many kids waiting to be adopted, to deny those who want to adopt that opportunity based on hate and fear is horrible beyond words.

That fact that my wife and I are straight does not make us good parents - it's the fact that we love our children and want the best for them...and how anyone can say that same-sex and/or LGBT people can not provide the love and care needed to raise a family is not only flawed logic, it's evil.

prevent the abomination of being adopted by a loving gay couple, right?

Right?

Nah, the children will age out of foster care by 18 and Evangelicals will have one short phrase for all these young people...
