Senate Republicans call for hearing on Pruitt scandals

Republican senators on Wednesday said embattled Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt should testify before the U.S. Congress to address the list of ethics scandals he faces, but stopped short of calling for his resignation.

Pruitt came under fire earlier on Wednesday after a report by the Washington Post alleged that the EPA administrator tasked one of his aides and sought help from Republican political donors to find his wife a job.

The report prompted Fox News television and radio host Laura Ingraham to call on Pruitt to resign. She is one of the most prominent Conservative voices to call for his resignation.

The EPA chief has been under scrutiny the last few months amid reports involving questionable spending on travel and use of security detail, connections with lobbyists and industry groups and use of his office for favors.

10. That's a feature, not a bug. It's the reason he still has a job.

3. A hearing,

As corrupt as he is he should have been fired a long time ago, but trump likes corrupt people . Draining the swamp is in reality creating a huge one with trump , again the opposite of his claims.

5. Sounds like they're trying to get ahead of this before it snowballs - and so close to the mid-terms.

They'll probably hold a couple of closed-door hearings, give Pruitt a pass, and pat themselves on the back on Faux News for "not shying way from keeping the administration accountable."

6. Flaunting of corruption by Pruitt and other trump admin officials

Has cornered GOP with Nov election season almost starting. The wasteful use of taxpayer monies is beyond defensiable....and so far GOP has totally stood back and done nothing. This is a huge issue for campaigns if you want to attack who you can trust to defend taxpayers. Even if they start going after trump and his people, they have to defend their indifference till now.

8. Its a distraction, nothing but performance art.

They're still giving Trump a pass, and they aren't questioning Pruitt's disastrous anti environmental policies. Don't be distracted, the Republicans are throwing Pruitt under the bus like a milksop, but his days were already numbered and he was half way out the door before they staged this dog and pony show.

9. He needs to stay until at October so the Democrats can use him as the poster boy of twitlers

Swamp creature. And just think of the next ghastly person twitler will put in his place? Until we get control of one house we can deal with him and put him behind bars.
