New York court says Trump canít delay defamation lawsuit

By Associated Press May 17 at 12:46 PM

NEW YORK ó A New York court said Thursday that former ďApprenticeĒ contestant Summer Zervos can proceed with her defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump, at least for now.

The ruling by the Supreme Courtís appellate division means Zervosí lawyers can press ahead with a demand for Trump campaign documents and other records while they await another appeals court decision that is likely months away.

Trumpís lawyers had asked to put the case on ice until appeals judges decide whether to dismiss it or postpone it past his presidency. Thatís likely to take at least until fall.
....

Zervos, a California restaurateur, appeared on Trumpís former show, ďThe Apprentice,Ē in 2006. She says he subjected her to unwanted groping and kisses when she sought career advice in 2007.

2. For a defamation suit? Only if he lies under oath otherwise its unlikely to take him down because

his supporters already knew what a worthless sack of shit he is and they continue to support him.

4. Please... The magnitude of what is coming out secondary to Stormy Daniel's suit and the

mistakes made by Trump, Giuliani et al. is CUMULATIVE> I'm not talking about this one defamation suit ONLY and thus the plural "women".

5. Yes I am aware of all of that and in a normal world with normal people it would take the person

involved down like it did John Edwards however we are not dealing with normal people we are dealing with a number of deplorable people supporting another deplorable person.

3. republican sexual predator dragging all America into his moral cesspool again

Why can't republican family-values role model Dirty Donny* behave like an honorable human being? Then America would not have to wade through his moral cesspool.

7. honest tangentially-related question -

I've heard from several sources that sitting presidents can't be indicted. I don't know whether that's true, but for the sake of argument, let's assume it is.

Can someone be indicted for acts committed as president after leaving office, assuming the statute of limitations hasn't expired?

8. Absolutely.

And I'm thinking that the statute of limitations can be extended under special circumstances.
