Hannity on air says Cohen never represented him: Cohen update

Source: Bloomberg News

In a packed New York courtroom, U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood has heard arguments over who should get a first look at documents from an FBI raid of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s longtime attorney. The biggest revelation: Cohen has also recently done work with Fox’s Sean Hannity.

The arguments turn on who should review documents that may include privileged communications between Cohen and his clients. Trump’s lawyer has said that the client -- Trump -- is the one protected by privilege and so should have the first crack, even if it takes time. Cohen’s team has advocated for a court appointed “special master” to review the records first. Prosecutors say that a separate team of government lawyers should look at the documents first and will weed out those that are privileged. They add that the attorney-client claims are a smokescreen because Cohen is primarily a businessman so few communications may constitute legal advice.

Sean Hannity, who was poised to do a radio show when his name emerged in the court, said on air that he had asked Cohen for his perspective on some legal questions involving attorney-client privilege, but never talked to Cohen about any case involving a third party.

“I never paid legal fees to Michael,” Hannity said. “Michael never represented me in any matter.” He later added: I “may have” handed Cohen “ten bucks” and asked for attorney-client privilege. (Steven Dennis)

1. LOL, he never covered up the affairs, proposed abortions, illegitimate little Hannities, or hush

money? Did he represent him when he got his basket-sized head stuck in the pool filter?

5. He took out a 3rd mortgage on his own dime

and paid hush money for Hannity's intern/nanny/housekeeper/stripper/playboy model/whoever . Cohen just loves to help out of the kindness of his heart

36. Speaking of the mortgage thing...why would someone with so much $ from Taxi Medallions etc

and is VP of a Real Estate company, etc. need to take out a mortgage to pay off a woman (not to mention the fact that he supposedly never mentioned said NDA .OR. the payment to his "client".

The mortgage story is even fishier than the rest of it, but I can't figure out why he'd said that if it wasn't true.

13. There are all kind of dangers in the world for someone like Hannity; double hung windows, revolving

doors, badminton nets, shopping carts, squirrel-proof feeders, etc. I bet he gets his head stuck in something other than crappy conservative politics about 3 times a day.

3. Hannity

has to have a financial vested interest in promoting trump and spinning clinton conspiracy theories. Its possible that Cohen could be the money man...through LLC’s, just like he pays hush money.

10. Maybe Hannity never paid legal fees to Cohen because Trump did.

Could Trump have made deal with Hannity for his on air backing and support in a quid pro quo exchange with a money payoff getting funnelled from Trump to Hannity via Cohen under a fake attorney/client relationship?

11. Do you appreciate the IRONY?

Man who lambastes people because they are liberals doesn't want his identity revealed because he would be "embarrassed"!

If Hannity's not a client, why would Cohen try to suppress his identity in court, and later admit through his lawyer in court that Hannity is a client? Is he calling Cohen a liar, a perjurer?

Ten bucks changed hands? Hannity wants to establish an attorney-client relationship with a high profile lawyer for ten bucks?

Payment in kind is going on here. Hiring a lawyer is a paid event, taxable to the lawyer as income. If not, was Hannity a charity case? Pro bono?

Lots of loose ends to this chase.

21. Yes, exactly...

Either Michael Cohen lied or Hannity lied.

If Cohen lied, then he just dug himself that much deeper with prosecutors and the Court.

If Hannity lied, well, that's where I think it's more interesting....

Remember, Hannity works for Fox News, so if he needed legal advice, he had access to Fox News Corporate and Legal, which happily was able to cover up for O'Rielly and Ailes for their sexual harassment charges. So, if Sean was accused of such charges, then it seems he would have been better off using Fox's lawyers and/or corporate money for payoffs.

So, why would he seek the advice of a 3rd rate lawyer like Cohen? Hannity needed something 'fixed', something that could NOT be fixed by Fox Corporate. And whatever that is, well...

16. For a lawyer, he doesn't seem to get paid very often.......

With so few clients, you would think he would be on top of that.

Very Odd.

Here's a question. If cohen illegally recorded his clients conversations, do they become admissible or are they still covered by privilege?

And he was never his client, then he lied to a federal judge under oath. This could blow up in Cohen and hanity's faces, and really hurt his case, and put him in more legal jeopardy .
