NRA host taunts Parkland teens: No one would know your names if classmates were still alive

Source: MSN/Washington Post

As they’ve stepped out of the hallways of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and into the national spotlight, the Parkland, Fla., teenagers have become Twitter influencers, TV news show mainstays and the stoic-faced subjects of a Time magazine cover.

But they’ve also increasingly become targets: Their most prominent critics are people who see them less as survivors of a tragedy and more as pawns in a larger effort to influence gun policy.

The latest attack came from Colion Noir, a host on NRATV who took to the airwaves on the eve of the Parkland teens-led March on Washington, telling them: “No one would know your names” if a student gunman hadn’t stormed into their school and killed three staff members and 14 students.

“To all the kids from Parkland getting ready to use your First Amendment to attack everyone else’s Second Amendment at your march on Saturday, I wish a hero like Blaine Gaskill had been at Marjory Douglas High School last month because your classmates would still be alive and no one would know your names, because the media would have completely and utterly ignored your story, the way they ignored his,” Noir said.

Methinks the NRA is not happy about the dragon they've kicked and transformed into known personalities with a sympathetic cause.

every shooting creates more of these stories and we have a whole generation who grew up with this shit and is fed up and demand action. This generation will hold politicians accountable.

The kids really went after the money. They calculated how much each student's life is worth based on NRA donations to Marco Rubio. $1.05 per student.

Sun Mar 25, 2018, 03:00 AM

There were few similarities between the Maryland and Florida school shootings.

The Maryland shooter seemed to be targeting certain students and used a pistol at close range meaning the SWAT officer had the same fire power as the shooter and a huge training advantage. (I also have not heard who's bullet took the shooters life as both fired 1 round in the engagement so suicide is a real possibly).

In Florida it was a weapon of war (AR-15) where the shooter fired at anything that moved. There is no way of knowing what would have happened in Maryland if the shooter would have used an AR-15, shooting anything that moved. The officer in Maryland was a hero. I'm not disputing that. But for the NRA to claim the outcome would have been the same is unknowable, irresponsible and cruel.

Let's see how that works with MAGA! https://www.facebook.com/DrumpFun/photos/a.902994263176769.1073741828.894591394017056/1102450443231149/?type=3&ifg=1

Seems the NRA got its talking points on this one finalized, and they're making fun of children, rationalizing Remington's bankruptcy as something other than what it is, and getting very active on message boards over the the weekend and today keeping their narrative unified with a teaspoon of righteousness.

This is their push-back week. Pretty sure it will appear weak in the face of the youth standing against them.
