Trump's lawyers have turned over documents to Mueller with hopes of limiting interview scope

Source: The Washington Post

By Carol D. Leonnig March 19 at 5:13 PM

President Trump’s attorneys have provided the special counsel’s office with written descriptions that chronicle key moments under investigation in hopes of curtailing the scope of a presidential interview, according to two people familiar with the situation.

Trump’s legal team recently shared the documents in an effort to limit any session between the president and special counsel Robert S. Mueller III to a few select topics, the people said. The lawyers are worried that Trump, who has a penchant for making erroneous claims, would be vulnerable in an hours-long interview.

The decision to share materials with Mueller’s team is part of an effort by Trump’s lawyers to minimize his exposure to the special counsel, whom the president recently attacked in a series of tweets.

Trump has told aides he is “champing at the bit” to sit for an interview, according to one person. But his lawyers, who are carefully negotiating the terms of a sit-down, recognize the extraordinarily high stakes.

If he's champing at the bit, just go out and do it. Why should he listen to his lawyers? Trump is smarter than all of them and Mueller put together - he has the bigliest IQ of them all, so should have an open-ended interview with Mueller with no lawyers and no assistants, either.

I predict at the end of the interviews, Mueller will not only issue an apology to Mueller, but write him a letter of exoneration declaring Donald Trump to be the most innocent person ever and beg him for a spot as a janitor in the White House.

He's also really smart. The smartest person ever. He's so smart that people are amazed at how smart he is, what with being a great wall builder, knowing the best words, being the best at providing everyone with healthcare at low cost.

their way of thinking what should be investigated??/

President Trump’s attorneys have provided the special counsel’s office with written descriptions that chronicle key moments under investigation in hopes of curtailing the scope of a presidential interview, according to two people familiar with the situation.

Since when does a defendent's lawyer written descriptions of the scope of what the POS deems are key moments under investigation....

Mueller will decide what the key moments are under investigation...not the other way around....key moments...key moments..how about key years....

Remember when Nixon had excerpts from the tapes typed up and placed into loose-leaf binders? He wanted to turn those over instead of the tapes. He displayed them during a news conference.

So trump wants to do much the same thing. Provide highlights?

for non-compliance. I'm not sure what the procedure for that is for a special counsel. In the real world with regular people, the atty would file a contempt of court charge, and the witness would be arrested.
