The FBI has tried to meet with two self-proclaimed "sex coaches" held in a Thai jail who claim to have information about Russian efforts to meddle in the 2016 election, CNN reported Tuesday.
FBI agents contacted Thailand's Immigration Bureau last week to try to set up a meeting with Anastasia Vashukevich and Alexander Kirillov, both Belarusian citizens, CNN reported, citing a high-level Thai official.
Thai officials turned down that request, however, because only the detainees' lawyers and family members are permitted access to them.
The U.S. Embassy in Bangkok referred CNN's questions about the matter to Thai law enforcement.

(7,527 posts)Not for everyone - I think a sex coach is like a therapist who works with very explicit sexual issues between married couples, and it may actually involve interacting or talking them through processes to assist. Some of them are couples who work in teams and might "demonstrate" in certain cases.
It makes sense that people could easily make the leap that this is prostitution, but I think there are situations where this is above board - for example when one or both of the couple have experienced an extreme sexual trauma and are overloaded with trust issues or PTSD and they need help getting past a fear of intimacy to get their love life back to normal.

(886 posts)Not too difficult to get approval for the FBI to get an "interview"...
Ridiculously simple...
The US only needs to contact Prem Tinsulanonda's representatives in Thailand..
How the heck do you think the US got permission to have a "Black Site" on Thai territory??? When a certain US agency ... needed it??
That old timer is one of the "Powers behind the power"...

(13,776 posts)Remember how during Obama's presidency, the headlines were all about prostitutes and Russia and obstruction of justice and hush money and security clearances and domestic abuse and money laundering?
Which is why the evangelicals loved Obama as much as they love Trump. At least they are morally consistent.
