(CNN) - New England's third nor'easter in less than two weeks began slamming parts of the region Tuesday morning, a prelude to what's expected to be an all-day barrage that could drop as much as 2 feet of snow and bring dangerous whiteout conditions on the roads.
Blizzard warnings have been issued for Boston and much of coastal Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, foretelling "dangerous to impossible" travel conditions with strong winds and heavy snow dimming visibility into Tuesday evening or early Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.
Snowfall at times could be as heavy as 1 to 3 inches per hour in the Boston area, and it also will be treacherous farther inland, with winter storm warnings in effect through the evening as well as for parts of Long Island, Connecticut and Vermont.

Snow already was covering roads in parts of Rhode Island and the Boston area before morning rush hour, video distributed by CNN affiliate WCVB and the National Weather Service showed.

(28,941 posts)Light snow and no wind ... so far. However, reports say we're in for it thru most of tomorrow with the wind increasing later today. O joy. We're prepared for a power outage providing it doesn't last too long.
Good vibes to everyone on the coast and down south.
New Englanders aren't given to shit fits, but this gift that keeps on giving just may do it.

(19,192 posts)if you call two feet of snow a mere "snow fall", and two or three fronts colliding at once a "cold front" you're not very attuned to weather conditions. I don't know where you live, but we think these extreme conditions are more than just another storm.

(6,931 posts)Try reading my post again,it never mentions the severity of the storm only that the WC decided years ago to name every damn cold front that goes blowing though. And yeah...living in the mid west we aren't exactly surround by Mar-a-lago weather here but those names for each one are just laughable BS.
