JULIAN ASSANGE STILL FACES ARREST IF HE LEAVES THE ECUADORIAN EMBASSY AFTER BID FOR WARRANT TO BE LIFTED FAILS

BY TOM PORTER ON 2/13/18 AT 10:21 AM

Updated| WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has lost his bid to have a police arrest warrant lifted.

At a Tuesday hearing at Londonís Westminster Magistrates Court, Senior District Judge Emma Arbuthnot dismissed arguments by Assangeís legal team against the arrest warrant, issued when Assange jumped bail in 2012.

Assangeís legal team argued that it was no longer in British interests to seek Assangeís arrest, after Swedish authorities dropped their request to question him over the rape allegations that U.K. police initially had detained him for. Arbuthnot described Assange as ďa man who wants to impose his own terms on the course of justice, whether the course of justice is in this jurisdiction or Sweden.

ďHe appears to consider himself above the normal rules of law and wants justice only if it goes in his favor.Ē

4. There is no case.

Sweden has already dropped the arrest warrant.

It's the UK that are idiots.

6. No, not true

Sweden did an administrative dismissal because the accused is not available for trial. The Swedish government reserves the right to reopen the case if the accused is ever presented for trial again. The sexual assault was dropped because he was hidden away for so long they couldnít put him on trial anymore. It had nothing to do with being innocent.

In other words itís not that he is innocent, itís they canít get him to Sweden to stand trial because his is coward and a liar.

9. You are overlooking the reason still:

From your article:

The time passing, the costs and how severe the crime is to be taken into account together with the intrusion or detriment to the suspect

Here is another quote and link:
However, she (Marianne Ny) did state that the case could be taken up again if Assange visited Sweden before August 2020.

Again, itís not that he is innocent, itís that he ran away and hide in an embassy rather than face trial. If he is as innocent as he claims why did he run? All of this stems from him running from arrest and trial in Sweden.

3. He's an Ecuadoran citizen, now!

The UK and Ecuador do have an extradition treaty...not sure why the UK hasn't requested Assange be extradited!

5. Because Sweden has dropped the case

So what's the point?

Let Assange stay in the embassy until he gets kicked out (which is unlikely because he is a citizen now)
