Larry Nassar gets another 40 to 125 years in sex abuse case
Source: NBC News
Eaton County Court Judge Janice Cunningham said she didn't believe Nassar who as recently as last month was claiming his invasive pelvic procedures were not sexual was truly remorseful.
"I'm not convinced that you truly understand that what you did was wrong and the devastating impact you have had on the victims, their families and friends," the judge said. "You are in denial. You don't get it."
Barring appeals, the proceeding in Michigan's Eaton County Court marks the end of the criminal cases against Nassar and caps an extraordinary outpouring from more than 200 former patients who gave impact statements during nine emotional days of hearings.
"The words expressed by everyone...have impacted me to my innermost core," Nassar said, looking gaunt in an orange jail jumpsuit. "The visions of your testimonies will forever be present in my thoughts."

(13,870 posts)What procedure could a "doctor" preform what would be seen as sexual misconduct. I looked it up and it's called "Pelvic physical therapy".. And yes it's invasive but I can see how a "Doctor" or therapist could convince a unknowing police officer or lawyer that it was necessary for "treatment"..... He knew how to push the right buttons to get out of jail for years and his time is now UP!

(8,311 posts)... it often ends up taking the form of supermax style isolation.
Poor baby won't get to look at his child pornography anymore, at least. And I hope they don't let him watch sporting events at all, unless it's football or hockey.

(14,618 posts)he doesn't get a lot of priv's. In some prison's, it's 23.5 hours in your cell.
That is psychological hell. Either way, his life is not going to be anything approaching pleasant. That's as much an indictment of our criminal justice system as it is comforting to people who find him revolting.
They should offer him the death penalty. He would be better off.

(6,226 posts)doesn't have the death penalty. Michigan became the first English-speaking territory in the world to abolish capital punishment in 1847. Treason remained a crime punishable by the death penalty in Michigan despite the 1847 abolition, but no one was ever executed under that law.

(23,321 posts)... I think the judge said the sentences would run concurrently, not consecutively.
(I thought that's what I heard on TV news.)
I wonder if investigation of athletes will follow, not just staff.
