Just 1 percent say they side with Bannon over the president.

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who recently lost his job at Breitbart News in the wake of a public spat with President Donald Trump, has also lost the support of most Trump voters, a new HuffPost/YouGov survey finds.
Roughly two-thirds of Trump voters now view Bannon unfavorably, with just 13 percent still viewing him favorably, the poll finds.
Bannons ignominy among members of the presidents base is a relatively new development. Even after his ouster from the White House, 38 percent of Trump voters viewed the former top adviser positively and only 26 percent held a negative view of him, according to a survey taken last August
But Bannons remaining ties to Trump were strained in January, after he was quoted describing a meeting between the presidents son Donald Trump Jr., son-in-law Jared Kushner, other Trump associates and Russian operatives as treasonous and bad shit.

(27,404 posts)Bannon no longer has any power, anywhere. Not even at Breitbart. Sucks to be him.

(127,308 posts)Am almost done "Fire and Fury" and IT appears to BE Bannon's "tell all book"! Wolff seemed to write much of it from Bannon's perspective and as proof, Bannon is never denigrated or ridiculed or made fun via disparaging nicknames like was done to every other individual in the Drumpf circle discussed in the book.

(3,032 posts)I agree. I think Bannon grossly misplayed this book, expecting to be seen as the "wise" one in a dysfunctional madhouse, the Cassandra of racism and electoral intent.

(127,308 posts)From what I understand, he was also supposed to testify in front of a committee too (I think the House Intelligence)?
It would be his "final revenge".

(33,643 posts)A public split so that when Bannon goes before Mueller and admits to the shit he HAS to admit to ... Trump's base will believe his 'Sloppy Steve LYING to save his own Skin' and 'He hates Trump cause Trump fired him!' dual lines of bullshit ...
I also kinda wonder if Bannon isn't a man who knows he's dying, frankly ... I mean, we all are, but I mean ... in his case ... pretty soon.

(9,670 posts)They'll turn on Don, Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Pence, the whole lot of them. This is idol worship plain and simple and Trump is their idol simply because he's a Republican President.

(37,648 posts)so going forward, it will be even more unlikely for any Republican to criticize him. He/she wouldn't dare. There's no telling what Trump in his wrath would do to them. After all, look at what he did to Bannon.
