Intel Dem says minority may publish report detailing panel Republican attempts to hinder Russia probe

BY OLIVIA BEAVERS - 01/02/18 12:47 PM EST

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee may publish a report detailing ways panel Republicans attempted to hinder the Russia probe, according to a Democrat on the committee.

In an interview published Tuesday, Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) told Greg Sargent, a liberal columnist for the Washington Post, that Democrats are considering releasing such a minority report. One such example of Republican attempts to hurt the investigation, according to Himes, includes refusing to call certain witnesses.

“If the investigation gets wound up too quickly, the minority report would be largely about outstanding questions that were never examined,” Himes said in the interview. The Connecticut lawmaker emphasized that he hopes the report will not be a necessary step.

“It’s in both the Democrats’ and the Republicans’ interests to…write a report based on a common set of facts,” Himes said. “It would be a tragedy if the report has a minority section that says, ‘Look, we wanted to talk to these two dozen witnesses and weren’t able to do so.'”

3. Exactly.

Nunes was suspended from the panel once, for taking inside information directly to the WH. He never should have been taken back. He is protecting himself, and his Russian business partners in the vineyard in California. Expose the traitorous bastards.

22. He recused himself, and then he unrecused himself I guess. But he was never fully out of the

picture. As the committee chairmen he retained oversight over issuing subpoenas of witnesses and then pick and chose which of the Dems witnesses he would subpoena. He also set up the second set of secret committee hearings for the Repugs who were meeting in secret rooms in the Capital and subpoenaing witnesses to a second set of secret hearings conducted by the Repugs in New York, all but insuring that any report that comes out of that committee has no legitimacy. All the while remaining in contact with the White House, and leaking secret data to the White House.

Once the democratic politicians take over (and they WILL) they can pull the same dirty tricks. Then listen to them squeal.

13. The New Yorker: Paul Ryan Keeps It All in the Family

Paul Ryan Keeps It All in the Family

https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/paul-ryan-keeps-it-family-kevin-mccarthy-russia-trump

“There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump,” McCarthy said, according to Entous, a superb reporter who heard a tape recording of the colloquy. “Swear to God.

In the Post piece, McCarthy’s remark is met with laughter, and Ryan cautions his colleagues, “This is an off the record . . . No leaks! . . . All right?”

And then, amid more laughter, Ryan says, “This is how we know we’re a real family here.”

“That’s how you know that we’re tight,” Steve Scalise, the House Majority Whip, says.

21. Is complicity (Ryan and the rest)

against the law if it is involved in a federal criminal investigation? I remember when I heard Ryan say this and I said, "This has to be illegal...why aren't they in jail?".

18. I don't think there should be any "considering" about it.

Regardless of the outcome of their investigation, people have a right to know who is working for them, and who isn't.

Right now, the GOP is more "self before party" than ever, and almost totally "party before country." These circumstances need all the fresh air and sunlight that can be brought to bear.

I wonder if there will be a "Ray Liotta in Goodfellas" character.

29. Semi-Rhetorical question here:

Why would Congressional Republicans continue to go through so much time and effort to protect such a glaringly deficient, incompetent, devisive and inherently flawed President in Donald Trump when they could just as well get the same amount of support for their agenda with a President Mike Pence with far less political baggage?

that he has a "file" on all of them (from similar hacking) and probably threatened Turtle & Eddie Munster that "someone" might release it if they didn't stay "loyal". They are ALL compromised. You see how many have already jumped shipped or plan to do so for this upcoming election.
