Booker Wants Trump to Resign Like Franken Did

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: The Free Beacon

Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.) wants President Donald Trump to resign like Sen. Al Franken (D., Minn.) did over allegations of sexual harassment.

Booker asked why Trump doesn't "do the honorable thing" while he was in Alabama on Saturday and made the comment to a reporter from Vice News, the Washington Examiner reports.

"I just watched Al Franken do the honorable thing and resign. My question is, why isn't Donald Trump doing the same thing?" Booker said on Saturday. "Who has more serious allegations against him, with more women who have come forward."

Many Democrats have been critical of Trump for calling out Franken for allegations of sexual harassment when they claim he admitted to doing so himself in the "Access Hollywood" tape. Trump has denied any allegations against him.

We can message this all day, but this is a culture war now. And I'm not sure we are winning a battle of morality regardless of being right.

2. Cory Booker is as incorrect as the trolls that keep claiming that Franken already resigned.

Franken announced that he will be resigning in the coming weeks, not that he had resigned. It's like the Sixth Sense and everyone sees only what they want to see. Franken probably will resign, but he hasn't done it yet.

He shouldn't let that lowlife Roger Stone (or whatever his real name is - I once read his father or grandfather was a Hungarian Nazi) get the best of him.

9. Rep. Bob Livingston Admits Illicit Sexual Affairs

It was different time when there was so much outrage over consensual affairs between adults such as the impeach of Bill Clinton over lying about Monica Lewinsky, which also lead to the resignation by Republican Bob Livingston due to disclosure of his own affair.

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1998-12-18/news/9812180366_1_impeachment-house-speaker-elect-bob-livingston-monica-lewinsky

WASHINGTON — On the eve of the House debate to impeach President Clinton for lying about sex with Monica Lewinsky, House Speaker-elect Bob Livingston told his Republican colleagues Thursday night that he had strayed from his marriage and had adulterous affairs.

Only a few hours after Livingston decided to proceed with the impeachment debate despite U.S. forces being engaged in hostilities in Iraq, he admitted in a GOP caucus that he had "on occasion" committed infidelity and in "doing so nearly cost me my marriage and family."

The speaker-elect's announcement added a startling twist to a political scandal in which Clinton is likely to be impeached by the House for allegedly lying under oath about his affair with Lewinsky and then covering it up.

In the closed caucus, Livingston, of Louisiana, read a letter to colleagues about the matter, departing from it only once when he said at the beginning, "I guess I have been Larry Flynted."

you know, I know that POS called your potus is not honorable and you calling for the political execution of one of our most anti-trump Senators, along with the rest of the anti-franken lynch mob, WITHOUT DUE PROCESS, makes me wonder even more about where we will go from here.

...too many times we give Republicans a free pass because we expect them to act like jerks and instead focus on the shortcomings of Democrats. We should hold both to the same standard.

The consensus of Forum Hosts agrees the Washington Free Beacon is not a reputable mainstream media news site/blog for LBN purposes:

The Washington Free Beacon is an American conservative political journalism web site launched in 2012. It states it is "dedicated to uncovering the stories that the powers that be hope will never see the light of day" and producing "in-depth investigative reporting on a wide range of issues, including public policy, government affairs, international security, and media."
