Residents wait in long lines for Obama tickets (Council Bluffs, IA)

Source: Nonpareil

By Chad Nation

Hundreds of people lined up Saturday morning for a chance to be a spectator when President Barack Obama comes to Council Bluffs Monday.

While the president’s campaign stop is free to the public, a ticket is necessary to get into the venue at Bayliss Park, and hundreds of people lined up early to make sure they were going to get a ticket when the doors opened at the Organizing for America Office at 1851 Madison Ave.

Michelle Wilcox and her daughter, Angeline, both of Council Bluffs, said they arrived at 9:30 a.m. to wait for the passes to be available at 11 a.m.

Wilcox said she had time to count 113 people in front of her while she waited, but it was worth the wait.

I know the OWH is busy covering all those shootings during the yearly Summer killing season in that city; so, they probably don't have time to cover a little presidential visit.

I was inside the headquarters as a volunteer. I'd say several hundred people, if not a thousand went through that line. We moved them through pretty quickly.

he was in our town this last week as well. Over 2500 reported showed up. Very good turnout, for this mostly all Red County. The trouble here is most all the repug’s are not rich enough to be repug’s and are being hoodwinked by those that are…..voting against their own best interest.
