Florida man with guns, school maps and explosives in home being held for mental evaluation
Source: ABC
DUNEDIN, Fla. - The family of a man arrested, after deputies discovered weapons and explosives in his closet is currently undergoing a mental heath evaluation.
Pinellas County deputies arrested 24-year-old Randall Drake on Thursday after they say they found explosive devices, guns, maps of local schools and an assortment of other weapons during a child pornography raid.
He was placed under a $20,000 bond but bonded out on Thursday night. Prior to bonding out of jail, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said that he believed Drake is too dangerous to be released.
The evaluation could last a period of 72 hours. Deputies told ABC Action News unless they file additional charges against Drake, he will not be taken into custody after the evaluation because he posted bond.

(5,506 posts)This guy seems legitimately crazy and a definite threat.
From other stories...
A handwritten note found by detectives read, "The daughters come, and I am ready. I have fed on my hatred for centuries. My fury at those who imprisoned me shall be vast and without mercy. I shall have my bloody revenge, and then the WORLD WILL BURN BURN," according to the sheriff's office.
Beyond that, his stash of weapons is frightening.
He lost his last job at a gun range for coming to work open-carry with a flak jacket. I think that says everything you need to know when someone is too much of a gun but to hold down a job at a gun range.
If he were Muslim, he would already be in Guantanamo and we would have wall-to-wall press conferences about preventing the next terror attack. If they let him out after evaluation I would be shocked. I am not one for prosecuting thought crimes but this guy seems to be a legit threat. I hope they find enough on intent to keep him locked away.

I get that people like to shoot powerful weapons for sport. There has to be a better way to do it like have them keep it locked at the gun range instead of at home for instance.
