Texas Police Allegedly Searched Woman's Vagina For 11 Minutes In A Gas Station Parking Lot

Source: Bustle,Huffington Post,NARAL

BySAMANTHA MENDOZA19 min ago

Late one evening in 2015, an African American woman was driving home in Harris County, Texas when she was pulled over for running a stop sign. She claims that moments later, responding officers pulled down her pants and subjected her to a humiliating cavity search in a gas station parking lot. Texas police officers allegedly searched the woman's vagina for 11 minutes, and newly released dashcam footage appears to capture the incident.

The incident is now the subject of a multi-million dollar civil lawsuit that the woman, 23-year-old Charneisha Corley, has filed against Harris County. The lawsuit details the incredibly invasive search that Corley was allegedly subjected to by officers at the scene. According to the lawsuit,

When one of the Deputies tried to insert her fingers into Ms. Corley’s vagina, Ms Corley protested. At that point, the Deputies forcibly threw Ms. Corley to the ground, while she was still handcuffed, pinned her down with her legs spread apart, threatened to break her legs and without consent penetrated her vagina in a purported search for marijuana.
Despite these harrowing claims, criminal charges against the officers were dropped the day before the case was set to go to trial, and the officers in question currently still work for the department on administrative duty. As a result, Corley's attorney, Sam Cammack, made the graphic dashcam footage public on Monday, and requested that a special prosecutor be appointed to the case.

1. The male officer is subjecting Corley to what basically amounts to rape.
2. The male officer is forcing the two female officers to conduct the search (rape).

I want to know what the two female officers thought about what happened. Did they think it was appropriate, or were the under pressure to conduct the search?

Or was it female officers?

A: Nobody should be subjected to a cavity search in public. It needs to be done by a medic or doctor post arrest.
B: If it takes ten minutes to find contraband in a body cavity, you're doing it wrong. Do gynecologists even take that long when doing an exam? My doctor did a digital check on me once and his finger was in my butt for less than 20 seconds. I assume an enlarged prostate is probably more difficult to find than a baggie of marijuana.

The male officer got two female officers to do the search. That's what got me. One female officer to hold the woman down, and another female officer to do the search. And you're right, it shouldn't take that long to do a search. So it seemed to me that the male officer was getting off on control.

A: Ten minutes of vaginal probing by a male officer would be straight-up sexual assault.
B: Two professional women should have had no problem doing a discreet vaginal search in under a minute. Two if one checks the other's work.
C: HOW THE FUCK DO THEY GET FROM "RAN A STOP SIGN" TO "FIELD CAVITY SEARCH"??

I will guess it's illegal to do an invasive cavity search without arresting someone. And if you arrest someone, you have plenty of time to do a cavity search in discreet indoor privacy later. If an officer can order a roadside invasion of a driver's business *without* arresting them, then there's a law that needs to be changed.

A single seed probably weighs more than that!

BTW, we had a Republican sheriff at the time. He was defeated by Democrat, Ed Gonzalez, in 2016.

she was defeated also by Democrat Kim Ogg who instituted a policy of not charging people with under an ounce of marijuana and issuing a ticket. The offender has their marijuana confiscated and has to take a drug education class. After taking the class, the evidence is destroyed, unless they don't take the class. If they don't take the class they can be charged but if they take the class, there is no record.

Do they not teach anything in Texas anymore?

Reduce to the lowest common denominator.

(Although, now that I think of it, that' a perfect description of public life in Texas...)

. . .

Ms Corley, then aged 20, was stopped by police in June 2015 after allegedly jumping a stop sign and failing to use indicators when turning. The newly-released video shows her being handcuffed outside the car and then searched after officers said they had smelt marijuana.

She is then forced to the ground, naked from the waist down having had her underwear ripped off, and searched by a female officer, during which, Ms Corley alleges, the officer inserted her fingers into the suspect’s vagina.

When she protested, Ms Corley says she was violently thrown to the ground and pinned down with her legs spread apart. The officer allegedly then threatened to break her legs and once again tried to search her vagina for drugs.

Mr Cammack told Fox 26 News the officer had “body slammed Ms Corley, stuck her head underneath the vehicle and completely pulled her pants off, leaving her naked and exposed in that Texaco parking lot”.
