Secret Service vacates Trump Tower command post in lease dispute with presidents company
Source: Washington Post
The Secret Service has vacated its command post inside Trump Tower in Manhattan following a dispute between the government and President Trumps company over the terms of a lease for the space, according to two people familiar with the discussions.
Previously, the Secret Service had stationed its command post which houses supervisors and backup agents on standby in case of an emergency in a Trump Tower unit one floor below the presidents apartment.
But in early July, the post was relocated to a trailer on the sidewalk, more than 50 floors below, a distance that some security experts worry could hamper the agency that protects the presidents home and family.
The command post appears unlikely to move anytime soon back inside Trump Tower, where the president and his family have rarely gone since moving to the White House.

She has now moved to the W.H., though.
Secret Service is also engaged to protect all members of the family. So if they go there, which I'm sure they do, the SS needs to be there for them.

(128,699 posts)but he only went once to visit in May (where he actually went back inside the tower), and he was back up on Long Island last week, but I don't think he went back to the tower.
I do know that the SS follows the jetsetting rest of the TFEE around, but they generally all have their own residences both in NYC & in some cases, now in D.C. (and Tiffany, who had been raised by her mother, had been in college here in Philly, starts law school in D.C. in the fall).

(9,512 posts)these people are crazy. they're impeding the detail that protects this asshole to siphon more money from the government.
This would merit a Darwin award, and is probably illegal.
Shit be truly cray.

(32,610 posts)Am I right? He's got Russian mafia-types already living there even though Trump himself isn't there.
But contacts could be made at any time, if there's no secret service detail around to "spy" on him.
You could be onto something.

(90,761 posts)Taxpayers should have never been made to pay rent at Trump Tower anyway.
If Trump can't comply with the successful, well planned protection of a President then don't protect him.
Seriously, stop protecting him.
