Ex-Bush ethics lawyer: Pence will soon become the president if Trump fires Mueller
Source: The Hill
The top ethics lawyer to former President George W. Bush warned on Saturday that if President Trump fires special counsel Robert Mueller, Vice President Pence "will soon become the 46th President." "Just appeared on FOX News. They are building a case for firing Mueller. If that happens Mike Pence will soon become the 46th President," former White House ethics lawyer Richard Painter wrote on Twitter. Just appeared on FOX News. 1. This country may be headed for an existential crisis next week
Trump's weekend isolation at Camp David may be only serving to amplify his rage and desire to strike back at his perceived disloyal "employees".
I would not be surprised if he does move to fire Rosenstein and Mueller Monday. And I have no confidence in the Republicans doing anything positive in reaction. |

27. There is absolutely nothing the Republicans have done for over a quarter century now
that would indicate that they would address 45 if he fired Mueller ...
People were all ginned up prior to him giving Comey the Ax saying THAT IS A BRIDGE TOO FAR, that will be the end of him. People were all ginned up dozens, literally, of times during the campaign saying, "THIS IS IT, THIS WILL BE HIS END!" Until such time as they actually do anything about him, no reason to believe they will do anything about him. |

2. The words "Bush" and "ethics" in one sentence gave me a severe case of
cognitive dissonance.

3. Yeah, Orange Foolius will fire Mueller. And then we need to immediately start an investigation
into Pence's hacked emails, because as we know, when it comes to hacked emails, there really is no worse crime.
May I be the first to say to President Pence: "Lock Him Up". ![]() |

12. These days, whether I am right or wrong is more a matter
of random chance - equal odds - than anything. Used to be, one could use history, logic, critical thinking ...

6. Question...
Obstruction aside. If there's hard evidence that the Trump team and Russia worked together to undermine our election process and charges are brought on those crimes, will Pence be allowed to benefit from that illegal behavior?

9. I want the obstruction charges....
but the whole Russian thing is what's really troubling. It goes to the heart of our democracy. If charges were successfully brought against Trump for colluding with the Russians, that would seem to invalidate the 2016 election. If that's true, it seems like we're looking at President Ryan.

11. If the 2016 elections were invalid
Then why would Ryan be holding office? Or any other house member for that matter? He had to win his house seat too.

23. yeah, I feel ya...
It's just we're all looking to Ford and Watergate as some kind of blueprint. I don't think we've, as a nation, faced this before. Maybe if we went back to the early days of our republic, with worries about King George and loyalties we could find a parallel, but it seems we have no viable history to compare it to.

34. yes, we're a young country walking a new unknown path because of some who colluded /w russia
Our government may have to be forced to work FOR Americans and OUR Democracy, to make whole again our election "results" before tampering, hacking, gerrymandering and outright colluding with a foreign government.

he was impeached before Trump otherwise there is no way to stop it.

30. Most of the Republican leadership should be implicated soon in the Russian Trump investigation.
When enough Republicans join with Democrats to get rid of Trump, there will be strong push to not impeach but let Trump resign. Dems should have enough to have Pence and others impeached and keep the investigation going.

Things won't be right in America until those corrupt fucking cheate(R)s are caught and removed from our government. Even 5 months of this pathetic shit is way to long for me.

They would gladly surrender Trump to save the party and the Presidency
They will say, "See! It's all cleaned up now. President Pence is clean as a whistle!" Follow the money, the roots are rumored to run deep. |
