In jam, Romney tries not to make new Iran policy

Source: AP

JERUSALEM (AP) — Mitt Romney tried to pull back Sunday from an adviser's suggestion that he favored new American aggression on Iran, distancing himself from comments that the U.S. presidential candidate would "respect" an Israeli decision for unilateral military action to prevent Tehran from gaining nuclear capability.

Hours after the aide previewed Romney's upcoming foreign policy speech in Jerusalem, Romney backpedaled and said, "I'll use my own words and that is I respect the right of Israel to defend itself and we stand with Israel. We're two nations that come together in peace and that want to see Iran being dissuaded from its nuclear folly."

The address by the Republican challenger to President Barack Obama was promoted as the centerpiece of a weeklong trip abroad designed to burnish his foreign policy credentials and highlight his ability to lead on the world stage. But the mixed signals on Iran could undermine that goal.

Obama has affirmed the right of Israel to defend itself, while also warning of the consequences of an Israeli strike on Iran. "Already, there is too much loose talk of war," Obama told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in March. "Now is the time to let our increased pressure sink in and to sustain the broad international coalition we have built."

I guess Romney will need some diplomacy on his end to try to get his advisors on the same page once again. There seems to be pattern here. A Romney advisor opens up with a dog whistle designed to appeal to the extreme right ("Anglo-Saxon heritage&quot . The mainstream media reports on the advisor's comments, then Romney has to back peddle from the comments.

correcting the gaffes of his entire campaign. They probably spout exactly what he said. Too bad they can't "advise" him that what he is saying won't go over well.

5. Another reason why Mitt is unfit to be our commander-in-chief

In 2007, when asked why he never served in the military during the Vietnam War,
Romney dodged the question by saying he “longed to be in Vietnam," even though he'd
used four deferments to evade the draft.

More recently, when asked why his five grown sons hadn't worn the uniform, Mitt replied,
"Instead of serving in the military, they are supporting our nation by helping me get
elected because they think I'd make a great president."

The audacity of that pompous statement alone disqualifies Mitt Romney from being the
leader of our armed forces. For incredibly to me--and I'm sure to you as well--he actually
believes that political campaigning is equal to military service. A man like that, who
has no understanding of what it means to be a soldier, sailor, airman or marine,
is the absolute last person who should be their commander-in-chief.

6. Romney is another puppet-candidate. He has no control over his advisors, they are running things.

It's obvious they are doing the majority of the thinking. They have been advance men, laying out Romney's platform overseas, because he obviously doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about most of the time. Then, when the advisor's statements are panned, Romney's people have him distance himself from them.

What a major FAIL that guy is. He stands for nothing. He is an empty suit for sale to the highest bidder. He's finding out what happens when you pimp your soul out... the Mormons will want something for their mega million dollar "I'm A Mormon" campaign they did for him. The NeoCons want a war to help the defense contractors to more of our money. The Koch Brothers want their tax breaks so that the rest of us live in a Third World version of America. The Christian Right want Roe v Wade overturned. They all want a piece of the guy because he sold out to the highest bidder, because he's completely devoid of personal integrity. I suspect that his own beliefs are closer to what he was in Mass., if he has any, but he has long since sold them out to get power and MORE money. He is Ebineezer Scrooge.

8. I Bet Romney Is Honestly Shocked That The Foreign Press...

...Calls him on multiple choice types answers instead of giving him a free pass as is the case with Fox News. In the U.S., Romney could probably tell a bunch of neocons that he would bomb Iran the moment he enters the oval office while also insisting the next day that he would be more effective in diplamacy than President Obama. The foreign media is probably honestly perplexed that a man who is so cravenly seeking the Presidency while pushing policies that only benefit the top 1 percent is in a position to win. The answer is the U.S. corporate media and the post-Citizens United world where billionaires can swoop in and handpick who will be their GOP puppet.

Then Willard acts all shocked when people are shocked at his extreme stances on both sides of every issue.

I think a lot of Republics are getting sick of hearing "That is not my position" and "What you heard is not what we meant. Who are you going to believe? Me, or your own lying ears?"

Wishy-Washy, unfit for the pResidency, compulsive liar Willard M. Rmoney.
