Spicer: Trump Warning Comey About 'Tapes' Is 'Not A Threat'

White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Friday denied that President Donald Trump threatened ousted FBI Director James Comey when he wrote on Twitter: James Comey better hope that there are no tapes of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press! Trump abruptly fired Comey on Tuesday.
Did President Trump record his conversations with former FBI Director Comey? Reuters Jeff Mason asked at the top of Fridays daily press briefing.
I assume youre referring to the tweet, Spicer said. And Ive talked to the President. The President has nothing further to add on that.
Why did he say that? Why did he tweet that? What should we interpret from that? Mason asked.
As I mentioned, the President has nothing further to add on that, Spicer responded.

Spicer Wont Account For Dramatically Shifting Explanations Of Comey Firing
By ALLEGRA KIRKLAND Published MAY 12, 2017 2:44 PM
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Friday brushed off questions about the deluge of shifting, contradictory explanations the Trump administration offered this week for the abrupt firing of FBI Director James Comey, saying the decision had always rested with the President.
Why were the American people given incorrect information that night? Time reporter Zeke Miller asked in the daily briefing, noting that the Trump administration attributed the firing to a recommendation from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein days before President Donald Trump told NBC News hed made the decision unilaterally.
I dont necessarily believe that thats true, Zeke, Spicer insisted. There was a decision-making process. The President explained it in the interview process. The bottom line is that the director of the FBI serves the President. The President made a decision to replace him, as he has stated very clearly now publicly.
Another reporter pressed Spicer to explain the discrepancy in the statements coming out of the White House about who prompted the decision.

It's not normal to rant like that.

The individual who resides in the White House, and carries the title "President of the United States," makes a public statement that any rational person would consider a threat, and then marches his mouthpiece out there in front of the same public, who denies that it was a threat.
This entire administration operates like this. Time to put them on ignore, and work to build a future that doesn't include them.
