Exclusive: Federal probe of Fox News expands

In February the investigation was reported to be focusing on settlements made with women who alleged sexual harassment by former Fox News boss Roger Ailes, and questions about whether Fox had a duty to inform shareholders about the settlement payments.

The investigators have been asking "how the shareholder money was spent; who knew; and who should have known," one of the sources said.

Investigators have been probing possible misconduct by Fox News personnel and asking questions about the overall environment at the network.

Investigators have also been asking questions about mysterious confidants of Ailes -- people who were known inside Fox as "friends of Roger." .............

The most telling thing mentioned (to me at least) is the $10,000 monthly invoices. I smell a phantom billing (phony invoice w/o any work being performed) where the scam is a senior or mid-level manager approving same, w/o any oversight, and getting a kickback from the recipient. It's an old scam for sure.

13. I'm hoping for deeper as the UK and the US government helped Fox cover up that

particular scandal fairly well as without their assistance Murdoch and Murdochs son both might have had to do jail time and Fox might have been forced to divest alot of its news media for its actions.

Doubt very much that Repugs will do anything to undo or hurt their media buddy who has done more to get them into offices over twenty years than the Kochs.

I guess FOX will just throw some fine-money at it and the Repugs can look virtuous and that will be the end of it. They'll sail on.
